Steak and Ale pie was great and Haggis stack was traditional and very good. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Would highly recommend

Very nice (almost) traditional Haggis. The service was a bit slow, and after 10 minutes that they served us, the outside area was closing, so we were "invited" to move our dinner inside. Staff just OK.

At first, we were leery about eating at a restaurant in the predominantly touristy Royal Mile, but we heard from an Andrew Zimmern show that this place was one of the best for haggis. The haggis bon bons (fritters) attracted us, but the waitress convinced...More

We recently stopped here for lunch and a beer during our journey on the royal mile. The food was delicious and reasonably priced with good sized portions. The service was good and the location was central to everything in the royal mile.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
