Very convenient eatery with delicious range of cakes, especially for afternoon tea. Also connected to a gift shop. They serve a small selection of the wonderful Cream of Galloway ice creams in generous portions.

Visited here on 15th May, initially for a cuppa then returned later for lunch. I had a jacket potato with prawn Marie rose filling and my wife had a Galloway Steaklet. Both were big portions and were very good, just what was needed on a wet and windy day.

We purchased items from this shop that we had been eating during our stay at The Cally Palace Hotel, such as the Marmalade. The Oatcakes to accompany cheese were the best my husband and I had ever eaten. We had a very nice coffee and cake after our shopping experiencne.

We came and had lunch here after a BIG hike (8 miles)...big for us! We initially thought it was a shop but then through the back is a lovely spacious and licensed cafe! A lovely bottle of white, caesar salad and club sandwich later and we were ready to go again! Friendly staff, lovely fresh food and a fab range... More

Got the recommendation from Trip Advisor to eat here and we were glad we did. I had the tastiest Eggs Benedict and wonderful Bannofee Pie. My daughter got the largest slice of chocolate cake, which she said tasted like her Grandpa made it. High praise indeed The only reason I haven't said everything was excellent was that the pot of... We usually visit once a year when visiting relatives locally. Managed to book in for their famous burger night and wow, we were impressed. Flavoursome beefburgers, quality meat, good portions, friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, despite being busy (and is it any wonder!). Highly recommend you call in for breakfast, lunch or early evening meal. Thoroughly recommend their own tomato ketchup,... More

I am new to the area and have made some new local friends who took me for lunch at Galloway Lodge; for a small town the Lodge was hopping, and no wonder. I had the ploughman's lunch, the plate was full to bursting with all sorts of delights and lots more cheese than I could manage. It was the best... More
