I have eat many times at Loch Arthur and had lunch today. We both had fresh, unpretentious and good lunches. Coffee was notable, (probably the one of two places in the area that can make a good coffee), as was the cheesecake. Staff, as usual are polite, friendly and efficient. Kitchen organised and hitch free. Immaculate, individual dining room. I... More

This place is popular but on my visit I didn't enjoy the food. Staff faultless but in this day and age I think there should be facilities for dining with your Dog as there are in the Lake district. A separate area would suffice. With the huge number of Dog owners nowadays they would see their profits rocket. I know,... More

The cafe is very pleasant and if you get a table near the window you can see the ducks on the pond. Staff are pleasant. We enjoyed very nice coffee and cake. The cake selection is very good and there is a gluten free option too. I am not sure if there was a cake suitable for vegan visitors. The... More

I've reviewed here before - but over the past year I have been many times - now we live 45 minutes away and I reckon we will be here every week. Why? Because the food is always delicious, the atmosphere great, superb value and you have the bonus of the shop attached. Can't think of any way to improve it... More

We called in to Loch Arthur shop and cafe before we went on a walk to Lotus hill. We found the food and staff to be excellent. The walk to Lotus hill is not for the unprepared.

Great lunch with an old friend. Nice place, very busy for a Monday, a good sign. Friendly staff. Very tasty food, mostly local produce and very healthy. Good value too. Shop sells excellent local produce. Whats not to like? Only downer is they had to stop making Criffel cheese, one of my all time favourites. Will be bacl.

You must visit! What a deli - cheese better than Mellis & own make cheese too! What fresh veg - straight from the fields! What bread, scones & quiche - straight from the ovens. What lunch & coffee - all freshly prepared. What a heaven of home made goodies!!! A place not to be missed if visiting Southern Scotland
