This has an excellent menu, and very friendly staff. The salad is exceptional very large with plenty of everything. We had the cold meat salad which had amazing thick slices of pork with salad, cheese, beetroot, boiled eggs, chips, tomatoes, lettuce, pepper, cucumber. We also had scampi and chips which was also big. We will definitely be back.

For lunch ... pie, chips and beans for under a fiver. Nice big chunks of steak in the pie. Such great value for a very nice lunch.

I was lucky enough to win a meal for 2 at the Friday night buffet & it was excellent. It only costs £9.95 for as much as you can eat at the buffet plus a dessert. The buffet consists of roast steak pie macaroni salmon sausages in gravy & chicken curry. There was also things for kids. I will definitely... More

Just back from lunch here with my mother. She had the senior portion of fish and chips and I had the ordinary portion. The fish was delicious! I know it's much easier to use bought chips but I would have preferred home made chips and as a result didn't eat all of mine. 1 cup of tea or coffee is... More

Saw a post on Facebook for the carvery at the Queen street Tavern so after reading the reviews thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. A choice of steak pie, Roast beef, pork, gammon and turkey with veggies, Yorkshire pud - a real feast. The roasts are carved by the chef and portions are generous, steak... More

Called in recently for their Sunday Carvery. Good choice of meat - roast beef, pork, turkey or gammon, steak pie, carrots, broccoli, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, with cranberry + apple sauces, gravy etc. Self service with the meat being sliced + served by staff. Good choice of desserts - Sticky toffee pudding, chocolate cake, carrot cake, red velvet fudge cake,... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of choice on the menu for the size of the establishment. However, we both settled with the scampi which was served with salad and chips. We were offered a choice of small or large portion so we went with the large and it is a substantial plateful. Not long to wait to be... More

Having tried a few other carverys in the area I have to say here is the best. Great large portions 4 meats to choice from and steak pie on top and we found out you can go back for seconds, although 1 plateful was more than enough for us we struggled to find the room for pudding
