Claire it is good of you to compliment our chef team on the little number they pull together regarding the "Chowder" dish we proffer here at Robert Stewart's Spirit Grocer to give us our full handle. Important to any eating hostelry it would be sensible to say that the food preparation folk get brought into the picture re first and... More

Had lunch here on Good Friday, love the decor in this restaurant, love the great food, the chowder soup was excellent, the service was really attentive and we love that it is unashamidly NOT child friendly. This makes for a lovely quiet lunch, not a screaming scull in sight! We also were highly amused by their sign explaining that they... More

We live locally but haven't been down for a few years, a bit of doubt about can you come in for a drink on the way home or do you have to decide you are going to order food. Service was great, Heverlee is a nice addition, the food was fantastic, two lovely burgers. We will be back!

We salute you "G R". Classic sort of opening line you state which we hear from folk when we asked them in casual chat " How far away do you live from us here at "Bob's" ?-----"Oh we just live Dunmurry /Lambeg' / Finaghy / Upper Malone" or the such like, you know all those sort of close by locations... This is the only restaurant in the Upper Malone area. It provides a very friendly relaxed venue with excellent food and drink. It is a very old establishment on the old coaching road from Belfast to Dublin.

Ahhhh!!!!! "MichaelMont" ye knows yer stuff re this neck of the woods on the history front. Indeed going back to the 1700s it was not the present Lisburn Road in Belfast to the townland of Lisnagarvy ( which grew into Lisburn town ) that was the main arterial route rather the two more used laneways / roads of those times... Popped in earlier for a bite of lunch and not disappointed. I had the haddock which was delicious and cooked to perfection and my better half had a chicken sandwich, again top notch. The service was fantastic and couldn't be faulted. There's an air of nostalgic eccentricity about the whole place that I loved. Fabulous!

Description
ROBERT STEWARTS SPIRIT GROCERS is located on a narrow country road that threads its way out of the leafy glades of south Belfast via the Upper Malone precinct. The road continues onwards in the general direction to the town of Lisburn which in recent years was decreed a CITY. The actual premises is a primarily two zone affair.A public bar of which no decent pub should be devoid of. This coupled to a nooks and crannies lounge bar handsomely ajoined with a slightly more formal dinning facility called the company room.
