We were taken here for lunch by our cousins while visiting. A great place to eat and catch up. Inside it's beautifully set out and the staff were excellent. The food was also very good with a good variety of food for adults and children. Also had a couple of beers. Well worth visiting when in Belfast

Had lunch here with my mum and sister at the end of November. Menu choice is very good. Service was a bit slow but the food was excellent. I have ate here a number of times and think it is always of a good standard and reasonable value for money.

I had 2 different Gin. Started with a Ophir and was recommended a local Gin to follow, both lovely with a great garnish. My friend had 2 cocktails, including one of the best Espresso Martini he ever had. Very good location.

Visited last night with my wife and god-daughter Stephanie who has special needs. Staff were excellent. Stephanie was staying with us overnight and wanted to go out for a cocktail. What better place than the Merchant. Got there at 5.45 and it was buzzing. Had to wait until the Champagne Bar opened at 6pm to get a seat but it... More

We got the table by the window, ordered soups, chicken caesar salad, tea and wine. This place has a fabulous atmosphere and outstanding tea service. Great decor- a nice décontracté way to spend a weekend afternoon.

Met up with an old uni mate and decided to have a few cocktails. The choice was amazing- a very extensive list indeed. The ambience and surrounds are fabulous and it's easy to spend a few hours and a few quid-bring lots of readies!!

Nice music. Wide assortment of libations to try. And GREAT service! Michael was our server, and could not have been more charming. He was polite, friendly and eagerly answered our questions on the history of the place as a former bank building. Nice relaxing way to wind down with a night cap!

Very fancy place~ we sat ourselves down in the bar. Had a lovely lunch and a margarita and then a lovely cup of tea in a fancy silver teapot. Great atmosphere. Michael our server was so so nice and very professional and made our experience even better.

Prior to going out for a meal with two friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary they suggested we start off in the Merchant Hotel bar. The surroundings are gorgeous. We were given the cocktail menu which is a bit like War and Peace, pretty hefty. In the end we decided on champagne. Hard to beat bubbles for a special occasion.... More
