This is the best pub/ resterant in Cardiff, the food is all locally sauced and delisous, the beer range is good varied and alway on top form, they also brew their own beer on site. Most of the eating is done upstairs, so down stairs, still retains a traditional pub feel, there is also a good area outside to lap... More

Went here for lunch. Fantastic! Food is clearly all made on site. Excellent selection of real alrs as well as the standard lagers. Greeted in a friendly manner and owner couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Menu selection is varied and all meals sound highly appetising. Fantastic for a little village pub. One of the best places I've ever... More

Managed to squeeze my family in for a NY day lunch. We were all greeted and shown a well prepared table. The staff were friendly polite and efficient. We ordered our meals and they were very happy to down size menu orders for kids ( rather than have a kids menu) which I always think is a great feature of... More

A friendly welcoming pub. Good real ale selection kept in fine form. Food available, yet to try but the menu looks great. Log fires. Dog and people friendly.

We came here for dinner and really enjoyed the food. For starter I had the cheese& leek sausage which was very tasty but didn't contain any meat which I was surprised about. My friend had the spinach & cheese pancake which was a rich gooey delight. For main we both had the steak & ale pie served with chunky chips... More

This is the best place I have ever been to for Sunday lunch. It was just perfect in every way, the food and service were second to none. It will be so hard to go anywhere else after this!!!

A group of 18 of us all received a good Christmas Lunch here. Three courses were £30. Only thing I could improve on the food was stuffing was dry and hard and the roasties were on the dry side. Otherwise lots of food, nicely cooked meat with properly cooked veg served separately and as much gravy (lovely and home made)... More

I have been to the Gwaelod y Garth Inn, twice, in the last week. The experience has be great on both occasions. The staff are tentative and the food is delicious. Today we were a party of 20 and the staff were spot on. We were made very comfortable and there was no rush to leave. We will be back... More

We have eaten at the Gwaelod on numerous occasions and it never matters when it is, it is consistently good. Laverbread and roast turkey with all the trimmings for me and French onion soup with turkey for my husband followed by superb desserts. It's refreshing that such good quality can be maintained after eating at celebrity restaurants which rely on... More
