Went to Yakitori1 as I have been quite a lot the last few months after the lockdown deprived me of wonderful Japanese dining. Yakitori1 never disappoints. Always get a cup of tea when I come in and the food choices are beautifully presented and delicious....Their Unagi Teriyaki flamed nigiri is superb and well worth a try if you haven’t had it before. Also had their yaki soba and duck and plum From the Wok dish. Beautifully cooked and a good helping of it. I recommend booking early as this restaurant has gotten far more popular lately and deservedly so.More

The food here is excellent. Lovely and quick service. Really good veggie options too. I wouldn't say it's overpriced but it's a fancy meal out.

Went into the store and was immediately greeted by brilliant staff. Food was scrumptious 10/10 and was served by a courteous waiter by the name of Adam.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here prior to seeing a show at the nearby Millennium Centre - both the show and the meal were a delight. Amazing and authentic Japanese food which was clearly fresh and prepared to order. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend over...a "chain" restaurant and very modestly priced!!More

We came here on Sunday 10th October at 12.00... All staff were absolutely efficient and attentive. We had Karaage Chicken Chahun, Karrage Chicken Yakisoba both on Special Lunch Menu. We also had Veg Tempura and a Chicken Skewer. It was 34.20 £ for all. They...were definitely yummy, big portions with reasonable prices tho. Highly recommended this cozy Japanese restaurant. Real hidden gem in Cardiff Bay.More

Fantastic meal as ever. Yakitori#1 never disappoints! Saturday early evening and very busy, but service superb and food delicious! Tempura prawns fantastic, as was the Robata beef. Service very speedy and attentive throughout!

This was a chance discovery, but so pleased to have found it. We opted for the take-away option and were not disappointed. This was the best Japanese meal I've had, outside of Japan. Good value, good portion sizes, and very tasty! The only negative is...that it doesn't (Sept. '21) open every night!More

We came here late afternoon and ordered off the menu multiple times as everything was so delicious. Nigiri, tempura and sashimi options were all excellent as were the Kagua beers. This is one of my favourite places to eat in the Bay as the quality...is always spot on.More

We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately- I had the warm sake which was very comforting on a blustery evening. We had a nigiri platter to start- lovely fresh fish and tasty rice- then I had a ramen bowl and my boyfriend...had the katsu curry. The curry was a little light on the sauce but he was offered more sauce spontaneously by a waiter, which he declined. Ramen was delicious. I had the chocolate orange cake to finish which was amazing, while my boyfriend had the mango mochi which were also very tasty. Excellent experience all round.More

The food was delicious and staff very polite. We got served quickly and didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. We had a mix of sushi, gyozas, rice and ramen. All very tasty and good portions. I would definitely recommend if you...are visiting Cardiff (or even live here!)More

Probably if you book in advance, they have plenty seating and it never seems to be particularly busy unless there's a group booking in. Lovely food.
