It was overpriced and underwhelming. If I’d wanted to eat fried filo pastry with little filling, minute portions and soba noodles that weren’t (greasy chow mein) I could botch that at home. Husband’s ramen was ok although beef a bit tough and don’t use dry...noodles. Asking for wasabi seemed an insult as well. Wouldn’t go again and as pressed for time didn’t say anything to the conspicuously absent staff.More

There's no question that the food here is really good. We ordered a selection of dishes from different parts of the menu and they were all equally delicious. The restaurant is light and airy and the staff where helpful. However, we were in and out...within an hour. It almost felt like being on the sushi conveyor. The dishes arrived within minutes of each other so there was no feeling of a relaxed dinner. Maybe it was because there was only two of us, however, I noticed that others who arrived at the same time as us were also leaving at the same time.More

We were happily seated on a busy Saturday, with no booking However, the waitress who took our initial drinks order was clearly having a bad moment, because she was so miserable and behaved like she didn’t want to be there The menu itself was probably...the most limited we have come across for a Japanese restaurant and prices were high So far, we were regretting coming in Decor wise, it felt like a mini version of a generic Wagamama The boy ordered a Dragon Roll but didn’t want the avocado, stating he preferred cucumber The wife order chicken karaage ramen and I went for the salmon teriyaki yaki soba His maki roll came out extremely quickly and the amazing chefs replaced the avocado with extra cucumber instead - he loved it The broth in the wife’s ramen was impressive - far better than most Japanese restaurants we have eaten in, in the UK and the noodles were nice and springy The chicken could’ve done with being served on the side to retain their crispiness, but a minor detail My soba was flavourful and it was a different cut of salmon that I was accustomed to - delish Even the drinks waitress’s mood seemed to improve as she showed off her wonderful smile So, all in all….I would recommend you try this place amongst the hustle and bustle of the standard chain restaurants found down the BayMore

Superb food, one of the best places I have eaten. Menu was overwhelming for choice, so have to visit again just to try more on the menu. Fully recommend a visit.

What an amazing experience! It’s a restaurant I’ve wanted to try for awhile and I’m so happy I did. It was a lovely atmosphere, great service and the most amazing food!! The cucumber maki was lush, the salmon wok dish was stunning and the mango...machi for dessert was lush!! I will 100% be returning😋More

Tried out this place as it sells itself as a Japanese restaurant, it was very good sushi and made to order , service good all round , will certainly return.

Mediocre and uninspiring. Will serve calories disguised as Japanese food. Recommend Japanese Beer, stay away from yakisoba.

Came here to celebrate our engagement, we aren’t from Cardiff so don’t know the area. The food was incredible, staff super polite and friendly and over all we had a fantastic celebratory meal. Thank you.

Found this restaurant at Mermaid Quay and it had an eclectic menu which was reasonably priced, fresh and flavoursome. The meals were delivered quickly and the venue was very nice. There was only one off-putting thing. In the disabled toilet, someone was storing their escooter....Maybe not the best place for it, as it will interfere with a wheelchair user.More

Absolutely stunning food, we had skewers,spider crab sushi (out of this world) and Yaki soba noodles with sesame chicken. Very friendly service too - we’ll be back next time we’re in Cardiff!

We regularly eat here when in the Bay and have never been disappointed. We love the sashimi and the sticky rice dish with chicken is a must plus the staff are excellent. I recommend booking online via Opentable as we always see people being unable...to get a table.More
