Arranged to meet friends for lunch here. The Bar was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Lovely open fire. Felt warm and welcoming. Great menu and service very attentive. Food cooked to order and there was quite a long wait. Looked delicious when our order arrived. Chicken was moist and tasty but the general consensus was that the risotto was over salty.... More

We went in on the off chance of finding a table in this busy restaurant and we're lucky to be seated at a table in the snug. Our waiter couldn't have been a nicer chap, attentive without being overbearing and a good sense of humour too. I had the Welsh lamb which was absolutely gorgeous, it fell apart and was... More

Nice little restaurant and pub tucked in the Castle Hotel. We tucked up in the corner of the pub - taking a break from scaling the walls and the castle. Food was very good - I had a burger (disappointed again not to be able to get a medium rare burger), my husband the goat cheese and lemon mousse? wrapped... More

When my wife booked this restaurant as a treat for our son and his girlfriend we didn't realise it was the weekend of Conwy feast a very busy weekend in Conwy. We booked a table in the bar side and got the table nearest the bar. To be fair we wanted a table in the bar not the restaurant. Although... More

This reviewer booked on line and was warned that it was the Food Festival in Conwy when circa 20,000 people decend on the town. They specifically wanted to eat in the bar even though when they arrived it was VERY busy. Knowing that it would be, we actually booked them a table in our restaurant also, well away from the... Visited on Saturday 15th October for my daughters 25th birthday celebration. We were seated in the snug which was perfect for our large party. We had the most fantastic night. A couple of niggles with the food (no salmon in the fish pie and something very wrong with the sultana naan). However, the rest of the food was great, beautifully... More

We where looking for a local pub and some local food while visiting wales. Dawson bar was exactly what we looked for. Great service and food, lots of local dishes that was cooked to perfection. The lamb was nothing but delicious. The personell was friendly and happy and gave us great recommendations. The clientele was probably a bit more dressed... More

Whether it's a quick light lunch or a full dinner Dawson's offer delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented food. The light lunches are great, and they do not baulk at serving two starters for a diner with a small appetite. Their real ale is well kept and is available on a tasting board of three for the price of a... More

The food was fine. The service not so much. We were dumped at a bad table by the hostess, who took off before we could object. We were then seated at a table next to a stand with their awards, covered in dust. Did I say how NOISY the restaurant was?

Thanks for writing and sorry you didn't have a good time. I presume you sat in Shakespeare's if you were seated next to 2 Rosette plates? Personnally I quite like that table - tucked out of the way a bit! Dusty plates - not today - just checked. We are a dusty place in the middle of the town, so... More

This was the best lunch I've had for ages. Can't wait to return for a longer visit. All locally sourced food including the best Mussels I've ever had in the UK..! Friendly service from an excellent kitchen.
