Called off here on the way back from a call out in Telford... My wife and I ordered the faggots wrapped in bacon. These tuned out to be like cricket balls wrapped in a dog chew. All I can think is they had been sitting around a while before we had them. This coupled with instant potatoe mash which had... More

Called in on the way home from a horrific meal at the Gurkha in the street next door, So glad we did, fantastic little pup, great service, live Jazz - and its dog friendly - what more could you want. Almost made us want to move to Abergavenny - we will be back !

A nice little pub if your not to fussy, needs a bit of up grading, its one of brains pubs so expect and get good welsh made beers, there are of cause guest beers as well. Its one of the nearest to town hall and market so on market days be prepared to meet a lot of traders etc. Out side during... More

I come here every few months for lunch or dinner with my children and husband. It is not a big pub but it has so much charm!! The food is always great and they make the children welcome. They have live music, which in summer is particularly good as you can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Aside from some rather interesting (and extremely drunk) regulars this is a nice pub. Food was a bit hit and miss; my chicken burger was lovely, my partner gave up on his Welsh faggots fairly quickly. The wine and beer were nice tho, not too expensive, and the staff were friendly. Toilets were pretty awful.

What a lovely first meal in Wales! We had a lovely beer and beautiful home style meal. Its a bit dated but such a warm country pub atmosphere. It was a beautiful intro to Wales.

My partner has chickens so on a day out in Aber we saw the sign and stopped for a drink, which turned into 3 or 4 and nachos! a little while later a live jazz band started playing and it was a really good atmosphere!

My husband and I had a day off work to go Christmas shopping in Abergavenny and popped in here for lunch. It is a charming little pub and as soon as we entered the barman was really friendly and chatty. We both ordered the gammon, egg and chips and we were delighted when it arrived. The meal came with a... More

Looking at some of the reviews who were positive about this restaurant well all I can say that they must be very easy to please. A group of us ate there and we thought it was very ordinary. The quality of the food and the menu reminded me off an off night at a Weatherspoons. My wife had what was... More
