Really nice place gets a little busy. Food was amazing, a little over priced for the cuts of meat they are using but still tasty! The lounge is a little small but the restaurant is large, can imagine it gets very full in the season.

In full season, we do get extremely busy and serve up to 80 meals a day in the summer months in the labyrinth of rooms we have here. Thank you for the review. More

Having been in the area numerous times before we have never had the pleasure of dining here. I am glad we did! Fantastic choice of menu, excellent service and great atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating even though they were clearly very busy and rushed of their feet.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch and were warmly welcomed by the staff who do a great job. The restaurant was extremely busy however our order was taken quickly and service was good. The meals were also of great value for 2 courses. The lunch itself was tasty and the beef delicious however the only thing letting it down was... More

Lovely lunch had in the restaurant today. Staff friendly and very helpful. Table was booked for 1330. Arrived early and table was already ready for us. Lunch and drinks ordered and arrived very quickly. After the hearty lunch with the very interesting 'Caernarfon pudding with leek and bacon' I don't think I could have managed a starter. Would highly recommend.

Well, where do I start. We met up for a birthday meal, as regulars to the pub we decided to back. We opted for the light bites. We shouldn't have bothered. The foreign working waitress and kitchen staff got our order so messed up. I mean how much can u mess up on a ham and cheese toastie and a... More

Sorry to hear there has been a mix up on your order at the bar I gather. The majority of our front of house staff are local and welsh speaking or in fact learning and helping the language to stay alive. As we are a hotel/Inn serving large numbers of meals per day to every nationality of the world. We... More

Very good meal with a good kids menu that met the needs of our picky eater. Had the lobscow that was very filling. The fish and chips was huge so bring your appetite.

Really, they were massive but so tasty I forced myself through the welsh pie. And given the number of mussels on my partners plate I'm surprised there are any left in the sea! Nice setting too, full of old fashioned knick-knacks and old beams.

The building is impressive and dates back to the 16th century. Both the public and lounge bars are convivial places. Meals enjoyed included mussels, trout and wild boar pies. The portions are generous and filling. The wine list is decent too. The slight down side is that you cannot book a table at a specific time, even if you are... More

Description
The Black Boy Inn is a listed building which is situated in the historic town walls of the Royal Borough of Caernarfon. The Inn is within easy walking distance to the town centre, and the famous 13th-century Castle. An old Inn dating back to 1522 and with its wooden paneling, low ceilings, and thick wooden support beams generates a cosy 'Olde Worlde' Welsh atmosphere. The Black Boy is a very busy Inn; please do not expect it to be a slow laid back hotel. It is in the centre of the tourist hub of North Wales and long wait times can be norm in middle of summer. Come and visit us in the winter season for a more laid back feeling. We now also have Black Jacks, which is another renovated building in courtyard, at rear of Inn .Black Jacks is away from the hustle of the main Inn . All suites have small kitchen area.No lift in building. Some Ground floor rooms are easy access with walk in showers , 1st floor variety of rooms as is 2nd floor.we offer 24 hour staff attendance. When you stay in any country you must wish to stay in somewhere that reflects that country ,we certainly do majority of our staff are welsh speaking and so are the owners .Meal TimesSunday to Thursday: Noon until 9.00p.m. Friday and Saturday. Noon until 9.30p.m.Table reservations can be made via reception up to 6.30p.m. Table allocation after 6.30.pm. will be made on availability. Waiting times can vary and an indication of any delay will be conveyed to you. To arrange a table reservation (up to 6.30p.m.)
