Went for a family lunch at Russell's. The restaurant setting is contemporary, light and airy. The welcome was warm and the service friendly and efficient without being obtrusive. All five of our group selected from the Prix fixe lunch menu - two courses £20, three for £24. Three opted for sea trout as a starter, one the soup of the day... More

We had a family dinner at Russells - it was fine and not as good as expected. Service was good but food was a bit of a let down especially the pasta with tomato sauce for the kids - not good for a basic dish

Interesting menu but vastly over priced given the variable output. We eat out a lot and would expect anywhere with main courses averaging £26 to be decent. The food was nice but it was a little over ambitious in my view. I assume they want to aim higher than just being a local bistro but the food standard falls short.... More

First visit for my wife's birthday. Went a la carte and both had rabbit starter and duck main. Service was friendly but not perfect. Empty glasses not collected and food debris not wiped. Paying high 20 pounds for mains I expected more. Feels more like a busy pub than fine dining. Tables too packed in. Also though food was well... More

Nice atmosphere, lunchtime service was quite busy as it's Easter holiday time. Pleasant staff who are attentive most of the time but seem to lose track of things sometimes. Delicious food but almost "Nouvelle Cuisine" in portion size. The dessert "Chocolate" was scrumptious but tiny. Around £66 for 2 main courses (1 was a steak) 1 glass of wine, 1... More

Lovely sunny afternoon wandering around Broadway, the seating at the front looked so inviting as the sun was on it and we needed a coffee. We sat there for a couple of minutes, then went inside to ask if I could order. The gentleman said the coffee machine was being cleaned and it would be around 15 minutes. I said... More

We have ate here before and when we needed a stopover we booked in to stay too - not disappointed had Room 7 which is amazing - comfy bed and stunning bathroom. Food as usual was brilliant and very good value.

My husband and I visited on a Wednesday night when it wasn't particularly busy. We chose from the fixed price menu, which was limited but had interesting choices. My husband chose the calves liver which was absolutely superbly cooked and presented. The standard of cooking was extremely good and there was a good selection of reasonably priced wines. The service... More

Have numerous visits to Russell's usually with my friend when lunch can last 3-4 hours and we are never rushed to leave. Today I went with my husband for his birthday lunch. As always food was delicious, the lunch menu is really good value. I had dessert off the a la cartel menu, passion fruit soufflé which was sublime.
