Between the four of us we tried the beef, chicken, lamb and pork. Everything we tried was superb, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful ("Anybody want more veg?", "Who's up for more gravy?" etc.). Pub roasts are so often disappointing, but we all agreed this was the best we'd had for some time, and the desserts were also... More

I used Trip Advisor to find this little gem and it didn't do The Alma enough credit. A lovely welcome by the friendly staff. My four children between the ages of 5 and 11 were made to feel welcome, the garden has a small play area but big enough for my kids to blow off that little bit of steam... More

Lovely dog-friendly pub, that could not have been more welcoming. We only booked for 7 of us the day before as we had been let down elsewhere, but they managed to accommodate us even though they were really busy. Great traditional Sunday lunch, with lots of fresh vegetables. Very relaxed traditional pub. It is popular for a reason! We will... More

Now, if you are looking for a Sunday Roast, that can feed the whole street, then try out the Alma. The Large Sunday roast (there is a smaller option) provided amples of Yorkshires, Slices of meat, great tasting veggies and more. the gravy was awesome and will happily be going back in the near future. Loved it !!

Had a lovely roast at the Alma. Shared the Barney Board. All the meat tasted fantastic. We book table for about 20 of us for a family get together. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Great local place that is everything I think of when I think of what an English pub should look like, except the food is significantly better. There were 2 of us and both meals were a double thumbs up. 8-10 beers on tap (sorry I cannot remember) but several well known brands to choose from. The Alma is dog friendly.

I went here with my daughter and her children on Christmas Eve, the pub has a 'Dickensian 'feel to it. It's very homely, the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food is absolutely amazing as it the service. Theyre very professional, the portion size of the food makes excellent value for money. I'd definitely recommend this venue and will... More

Hi ellie4149, I had to google Dickensian, this is what it said......Of, relating to, or reminiscent of the works of Charles Dickens, especially with regard to their wide-ranging plots, eccentric characters, or grim depictions of the plight of children and the urban poor. I'm hoping you are relating to our eccentric decorations and locals and not so much the plight... More

We went with friends to this very welcoming pub. Very nice place and the food was good, wholesome and well cooked. I felt very relaxed and even had a visit from Admiral- the pub dog. Tucked away from the centre - The Alma is a nice establishment which I would recommend you visit.

Never been to this pub and thought the sat nav had a moment as you wouldn't expect to find such a great quirky locals local in this little residential road outside Windsor town. How lucky local residents are to have such a homely pub you could easily spend all day in! Great friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, huge roasts and lovely... More

Description
You'll find The Alma just 5 minutes walk from Windsor town centre tucked away on a charming Victorian red brick terraced lined street. We are a traditional English pub serving a range of beers, ales, fine wines and great food....The size of our portions are legendary. We also have the largest beer garden in Windsor, great for those hot summer days and evenings, should we see them! We are conveniently located for Heathrow, the M4 and the M25. The Alma is full of antiques and collectable's including: furniture, paintings, pictures, mirrors, ceramics and interesting knick-knacks We also have a collection of rare film posters and are constantly adding interesting and unusual items to The Alma. It's like pubs used to be and, in our opinion, should be.
