Visited the pub for the first time in years and wished it was closer so I could make it my local. Met a bunch of old friends I hadn't seen for some time and settled in to watch the cup final. Banter with the locals...More

Thank you! Another great evening at the Duke of Edinburgh. Food, drink and service really is top notch! An enjoyable night where, again, we felt instantly welcome on arrival. If you haven't visited- you are missing out!!

Excellent old style pub when plebty of seating. Larget than normal menu selection with specials. Something for everyone. About a mile from Ascot high street down a back lane. Parking limited. Would recommend the Lamb cutlets. Good quality and good service. Would recommend.

My favourite local, staff always welcoming, service excellent, dogs permitted in bar area, great for lunch (especially Sunday) or dinner.

Stopped by on Sunday at 2.35pm and we were extremely pleased to be able to order food despite the kitchen having just closed. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the food served was excellent. Top marks for this.

First visit to this pub/restaurant and it certainly will not be our last. Impressed with quality of food and the wide selection of dishes on menu with the plus of a specials board. Rather large quantity, but I have a small appetite, nobody else was...More

Pub /restaurant with a good selection of fine pub fare are at a reasonably cost, best to book and sometimes parking can be tricky.

Do you host three course dinners for 30 people? Or hire a room for a birthday party? Or even bouncy castle in garden/car park?

Good morning, we always advise people to book as we can be very busy. We allow dogs in the bar area but not the dining room.
Hi, just a quick question and an observation. Have you actually ever really eaten at the Duke of Edinburgh? I have eaten there many a time, always had good service and fantastic food. If Inhad any complaint it would be that the service was actually too fast, you often barely have time to swallow your starters when your main course is being served. The reason I ask because I have noticed that whenever anyone gives this restaurant a bad review they almost immediately give the pub next door a glowing review even if they haven't eaten there for ages or, as in your case, eat there. It's just an observation you understand but it does seem a little ' suspicious' to say the least.

Yes, I have eaten there many times. Always found the food to be good... Service is prompt, and the bill not too high. I have never eaten in the Rose&Crown so I can't comment, although the beer there is good.

The Duke Nick & Annie welcome you to the Duke of Edinburgh at Woodside, a traditional family run business. Here at the Duke of Edinburgh we pride ourselves in offering the highest quality of service in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We offer the very best in both a-la-Carte and Bar menu food, with Chef specials offered nightly. Sample our wonderful fayre and accompany your meal with choices of fine wines. We are located just off the Windsor Road in the hamlet of Woodside, just half a mile from Ascot Racecourse. There is ample parking available, and we have a nice garden too. The pub is over 200 years-old and has low beams, giving a cosy atmosphere. The pub was recently completely refurbished, during which time the restaurant was extended and new toilet facilities were installed. There are two TVs in the lounge area which show the football or other sports events. As well as various beers and guest ales, there are numerous excellent wines & champagnes available. Just along from the lounge bar area is the restaurant, with table sizes to fit all occasions (parties up to 18 catered for). The Duke provides free WiFi access (high speed compu-fix system) for its patrons, and offers a smoking shelter with heaters, in addition to the spacious beer garden which also boasts a large avery sporting numerous types of budgerigars. We do allow dogs in the bar and garden, but do bring a 'doggy bag' in case of an accident.
