Me and my family visited this beautiful pub recently, we were greeted pleasantly by great staff. The beer was good and the food was even better with friendly service. Definitely will visit again!

Had a lovely drink in the pub, staff all very cheerful. Went for a meal in the evening, meal was nice but could have been hotter although in their defence there were Christmas parties at the same time.

Old world hostelry with an ambience that is out of this world (they have a ghost as well) A meal as part of a group, to celebrate Christmas, a few days early. The meals were all (I spoke to several of the group) of fine quality and enjoyed by those attending. There were several choices each course and the chef... More

We visited for lunch over the Christmas period, having really enjoyed a meal here last year. It is such an interesting building, quite unique, and well situated in the centre of Salisbury. The upper room is accessed by a difficult staircase, but leads to a cosy restaurant with a log fire. There is a very good choice on the menu,... More

This restaurant is the only one in Salisbury that benefits from a plug delivered by the audio commentary on the Stonehenge tour bus. It has everything stacked in its favour; history, location and free publicity. The menu is unremittingly Anglo-Saxon with the most exotic ingredient I encountered being the mellowest chorizo I've ever tasted in my pork cheek starter. Nothing... More

Lovely quaint pub with bags of character. Cosy little rooms to sit in with fireplaces. Serve lovely mulled wine with mince pies!

Description
One of the city's most historic pub, and listed on CAMRA's National Inventory as one of the most historic interiors in the UK, The Haunch is packed with history, reputedly haunted by the ghost of the cheating card player, whose mummified hand is displayed in the upper 'House of Lords' Bar, with the snug 'Horsebox' allegedly the meeting place of Churchill and Eisenhower whilst planning the D-Day landings! With a spacious first floor restaurant, and a recent ownership change, The Merchant's House dining room on the first floor (entrance through pub) features a contemporary British menu specializing in local ingredients which include our famous venison casserole, superb selection of local meats and fish. Complemented with a specialist whiskey list, fine wine list and local hand - pulled real ales, as well as very friendly service, The Haunch is a definite 'must see' on your visit to Salisbury!
