Very quaint place for lunch after visiting the Cathedral. Home cooked meals. Very good and plenty large enough.

There are plenty more, nicer tea rooms in Salisbury DO NOT BOTHER WITH HERE! It has taken me MONTHS to be able to write this review, your management skills are utterly atrocious. I walked out of your restaurant and burst into tears because the male...More

Dear Charlotte Thank you for your review. I am going to be neither rude nor condescending. Merely factual and honest. I have copied the final paragraph of my email response to you back in April so that users of this web site can see for...More

Stopped by for a late lunch after visiting Salisbury Cathedral. Good choice of light meals and an excellent array of homemade cakes etc. Space is a little tight between tables so not great if you require privacy. Staff were very busy but remained polite and...More

We went for refreshments during a day visit to Salisbury, this has the potential for a captive audience in that location. Upon arrival the older lady waiting staff was very snappy demanding that customers must have food between certain hours and they don't cater for...More

We stopped here after a tour of the cathedral. It was a pleasant day and we sat outside. The service was slow although the staff were pleasant. My daughter ordered a child's lunch and it was geared toward a child around the age of 4....More

Thank you for your review but I am wondering whether you have the right place? We are next to the Rifles military museum and do not do children's meals as such. If requested we do smaller portions of our adult meals. Additionally all our sandwiches...More

Having struggled to find anything gluten-free at the cathedral, we came to Bernieres. Friendly greeting, gluten-free options explained. We both had the tartiflette, a dish from the Savoy region of France, made with potatoes, onions, cheese and bacon. Scorchingly hot, delicious, reasonably priced, just what...More

Another sunny and warm day found us ‘taking the weight off’ at Berniers. I expected that a cream tea here would be off the charts price wise given the possibility of the ‘captive audience’ but I found it was very reasonable and very very nice...More

After so much mediocre food whilst holidaying in the UK it was a delight to eat 2 excellent courses in pleasant surroundings. No pretensious menu here only good well cooked food pleasantly served. I applaud the switch off mobile signs on display. Long may they...More

I stopped here with my partner and our son for a quick lunch before visiting the Cathedral last week. We had decided that we would stop at the first place we saw rather than trudging around looking for alternatives and first impressions were good. It...More

I had decided not to reposed to any further reviews as I dislike the way that given the power of reviewing from a distance via this web site, people make some unfair and inaccurate judgements based simply on their expectations not being met. However, I...More

Yes you can and indeed should, book a table for Sunday lunch. This is our busiest lunch of the week and in order to accommodate everyone, we operate 2 sittings. We take bookings between 12 and 12.30 and then 1.30 to... More

Description
Small family owned and run tearooms offering morning coffee, light and main lunches and afternoon teas in the summer. Situated next to the military museum in Salisbury's Cathedral Close. Outside seating in summer. Sunday lunches require reservations and our cream teas are exceptional. Voted one of the best value establishments in the UK by Olive Magazine a few years ago.
