Sitting here in the boathouse with my other half .....having a lovely glass of wine ...watching the staff watch an elderly lady struggle up the stairs on her own listening to what i can only describe as up tempo ska music 😕 when it would be lovely if it was not quite so intruding especially for the 50th birthday party... Visited the Boat House for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of service. We received a friendly welcome and although the menu is small the quality of the food is excellent. The beer was well kept and a good selection. I will definitely go back.

I have lived in Salisbury 17 years, this venue has been through a few changes, I think Afon was the best attempt, today was enjoyable, lovely welcome from the bar staff, menu was suitable for lunch and dinner, great beer, tried the American style craft beer ( by Greene King), had a chicken and bacon brioche and my wife had... Nice surroundings river running past. Nicely furnished. Didn't seem very clean beneath surface in bar and toilet area. Very poor patronage possibly due to the fact that staff were a little surly and it's pretty expensive compared to most other places in town. Would think its only a matter of time before it shuts again and reopens in yet another... More

We used out Tastecard for this visit which gave us 50 percent off. I can honestly say they couldn't be more obliging so helpful and said we could have anything off the menu. My husband had the belly pork - his verdict delicious. I had the sirlion steak lovely cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back.

I've given this three stars on TripAdvisor, but in reality it deserves three and a half. It's a spacious building next to the river; with some seats for drinking but most of the floor space for dining tables. I didn't realise until I arrived (it's not obvious from the website) but it had a Greene King sign outside. Normally that... More

We booked the dining room upstairs for an evening dinner party for 24. A nice size room for a small gathering. I will start by saying what a super evening we all had and there were no complaints. We were greeted with a smile and helpfully shown to the dining area. We were pleased with the layout of the tables... More

Very enjoyable lunch today. We hadn't booked but even though they were busy we were given a nice table. Set menu was good value and great tasting. All topped off with excellent service.

I booked a table for a family of 4 on Sat 14th Feb, so expected that it would be busy with Valentine's night. We were offered a erservation at 6 and were told that the restaurant would need the table back by 8pm, but the place itself wasn't at all busy and including us there were 20 people seated for...
