Over the last fifty years I have visited this place but not for the last twenty years. The general decor is unchanged but that adds to the feel of the place. We had to wait to be given the menu and then wait for order to be taken. My main complaint is the quality of the food. The soup was... More

This has fast become of favourite local bar. Small and friendly. Great choice of beers, gins, lagers and wine. Bar snacks are great too. Not eaten here for a while but it has always been good in the past. Dog friendly too and Benji is always very welcome here.

Overall experience could have been better on this occasion as I had to ask for the heating to be put back on twice due to feeling cold. The lamb dish was a little fatty with a lot of bone and didn't come with many vegetables, we had to order potatoes. I couldn't fault the waitress as she was pleasant and... More

Best meal at this restaurant in a long time ! The fish and chips were absolutely delicious. The batter fantastic, crisp and light and the fish better than any local chip shop. It was so white, moist and large. Friendly staff and good atsmosphere. Value for money. Good selection of gins, which are becoming very popular

Called for Sunday lunch but it left a lot to be desired. The pub was freezing, no heating on so had to eat in my coat hunched over trying to keep warm. Wish I'd have ordered a drink first rather than food at the same time, that way I'd have realised I wasn't just feeling the cold from the walk... More

Came for our gym Christmas meal and I'm disappointed I've not been before when it's practically on my door step. Amazing food and an amazing gin selection. My favourite things. Staff were very attentive and the food came out promptly after each course. 3 courses for under £25. Drinks are slightly over priced but I would happily pay that for... More

Had a Christmas dinner here as a works night out. Unfortunately the food was not up to standard. Out of the party around 10 of us had the turkey parcel which was inedible. The meat was tough and appeared undercooked. We reported this to the staff but the best they could offer was free / tea or coffee at the... More

This was a good place for a family meal on Saturday night as its close to my brother's house and can cater for a group. We had drinks and meals for six The food cost around £93.00 with drinks extra. There is a good range of ales, beers and wines here. Service is efficient. Space could be limited at busy... More

We went as a party of 12 last night, the staff were extremely patient and accommodating as 2 of our party had very specific dietary requirements.

I've drank and eaten here on and off for the last 10years. Sadly the food has been inconsistent over the years, but when it's good.... it takes some beating so I'd highly recommend you give it a chance (or two) There's always a good vibe there, a lovely place for chatting over wine with a nice terrace on the back....
