Easy to find in a central position. Near the cathedral and shops. It is on 2 levels. We managed to get a table upstairs. Very good food we had the steak special which was delicious and a pint of Thatchers Gold cider. Our grandson enjoyed the chicken nuggets and chips with a fruit bag and a drink which was very... Typical of a city centre Wetherspoons establishment , went in for a meal at lunchtime and the place was pretty busy . As expected , most tables were occupied but found a free one near the windows at the front with a fine view towards the historic council house . The clientele were varied with a few out on Xmas... Whilst In Coventry on Sunday we were hungry and for some reason our normal restaurant was closed so we decided to try The Earl of Mercia - A Wetherspoon Pub. Plenty of tables were available upstairs and my wife and I looked at the pile of menu's on the tables. My first reaction was the excessive number of drinks and... More

Went there with a bunch of old work mates ahead of the Wasps v Harlequins game at the Ricoh. A short walk from the train station and offering what you would expect from a Weatherspoons; cheap booze and adequate food - although I have to say that the all day breakfast was just what the doctor ordered...or warned against I... Loads of students in last Wednesday. Stacey cleared the queue and looked after me well! What more can a man ask? Only get half an hour for lunch so every minute counts!

On two levels, a decent Spoons in the centre of Coventry. Usual menu but the food was good. Good ales, with quite a few from the Midlands. No problem with the service.

Visited this establishment with friends prior to going elsewhere. The options of beverages are in line with what you would expect from a wetherspoons pub, with a strong selection of ales and variety of beers/spirits. The staff are polite and knowledgeable with regards to the stock on offer which makes selection of your drink a much easier task (for those... More

worst experience ever in Wetherspoon, food inedible, left half of it, when we dared to complain waitress accused us of lying in front of bar full of customers in a very aggressive manner, left feeling humiliated and angry.

This Wetherspoon pub is split over two floors, a bar/ dinning areas on the ground floor and a large dinning area on the first floor. We have a large entrance allowing ease of access. We provide a relaxed environment and are welcoming to everyone including families.

Our name is taken from Leofric, Earl of Mercia, who founded St Mary's Priory, Coventry's first cathedral. A larger-than-life statue of Leofric and his wife, Countess Godiva, can be seen above the main entrance to the council house, opposite this pub.
