Very surprised about reviews saying this is 'quirky', 'a gem' etc. It doesn't really live up to the name. Could only see the 'Edwardian' bit being pictures on the wall. Maybe it's me but I imagined old fashioned furniture and table service by waiting staff dressed in Edwardian uniform. I had tea and cake and I must say that was... More

Superb afternoon tea for £13 ahead. Opt for tea (over coffee) as you get a pot. Also book for the better tables.

Beautiful Edwardian Tea rooms, a real gem in the heart of Birmingham. I love the way they serve the tea with little milk bottles , such detail. The Strawberry milkshake was lovely.

Stopped to have a coffee whilst visiting the museum. Had mouth watering cakes on display plus the availability of hot food and savoury snacks. Located in the centre of the museum with a high ceiling that has an exhibition gallery in a balcony around the room. I thought that the prices were fair for a city centre establishment.

We've visited the tea room before and knew that it was special. We managed to get a spot in the corner with three armchairs and enjoyed coffee and cake whilst chatting and watching the world come and go. The building and surroundings are wonderful and with the decorations, pictures, books etc. you really feel that you're in Edwardian times!

Lovely Edwardian tea rooms, wrought iron balconies and a good choice of interesting food. You almost expect a string orchestra to be playing in the background. Most relaxing place to eat in the hubub of the city.

Ok, so it's not a-la-carte, but it's tasty. Really airy room to sit in (albeit a bit busy), not horrifically pricey (£2.20 for a pot of tea, about £3.75 for soup) and something a bit different from the usual high street chains. Would we return? Yes, definitely and we already have!

On the basics (seating, environment, and connectivity), this place is a great coffee place. The coffee was adequate though not fantastic, but it is a very pleasant to while away a sunday afternoon. Plenty of seating, and mobile reception was strong. Eggs benedict is made with parma ham and is above average.

Stopped here for a quick tea and coffee. It's a really great space, set in the heart of the museum, filled with chairs, sofas and seats of different sizes and shapes. Although I only stopped for a drink, the menu looked great so I'll definitely be back to check out the food next time i drop in.

Downtown Birmingham, surrounded by construction sites when we visited, the museum occupies two buildings. What appears to be the original bidding is an interesting Victorian in its own right (iron works, skylights, gothic arches and brickwork) which alone makes visit to coffee shop/restaurant worthwhile. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and service as well which I consider well above-average... More
