Polish food is not for the faint-hearted, I get it, but why perpetuate the image of Eastern European food that is heavy, made of what seemed to be cheap ingredients and completely lacking in any healthy food awareness? I didn't expect finesse, just good quality comfort food (which turned out to be average at best). Unfortunately, all I got instead... More

Excellent polish cooking. A beetroot soup almost like a consomme, flavoured with apple. Zurek w Chlebku - rye soup, served in hollowed out bread - was delicious. Main courses similarly high standard. A very good meal, but seriously filling.

There were plenty of Polish customers which is a good sign, i had the beef which was melt in the mouth delicious and a very good portion, i couldn't finish it, the beer was tasty and the service friendly and excellent, will be coming here again. Good selection of fish and non-meat dishes.

We attended brunch at Karczma Polish restaurant, tried a bunch of new dishes I had never had the pleasure of tasting before, or even hearing about before, like Pierogi and Herrings, and was impressed, the menu was interesting but the service impeccable and friendly.

Spotted this excellent restaurant on TripAdvisor when in Birmingham on business. Simply excellent. Warm welcome. Delightful ambience and just great Polish food. Brilliantly cooked and massive portions. Will certainly return on next visit.

My Wife is Polish and she fancied some traditional food. The menu is great, with many the traditional dishes that you find in Polish cuisine. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Portion sizes are very generous and the flavours are great. Highly recommended and we will be back soon!

Visited for Mother's Day. Having enjoyed polish cuisine on holidays and having read the many positive reviews we were set for a great meal. Once seated we looked over the menu we were initially served by one of the moodiest waitresses I've ever had. We ordered the grilled goats cheese and a chicken soup to start. Only one of the... The food was lovely. The staff very friendly and reasonably priced.he was telling us about krakow as we want to visit there The ambiance was relaxed and the sheepskin on the benches made it very rustic.

What an amazing place! Excellent food, very helpful friendly staff. We were all too full to move. Three pierogi didn't sound a lot so we had starters but they were huge. And Zubrowka too

Visited this restaurant after reading a review. Definitely worth it. Service was perfect- unrushed but efficient. The menu is not too extensive, and if every meal is as well presented as ours were, then they've got it right. We shared a starter, smoked cheese wrapped in bacon; perfect. We both chose beef dishes as our mains. Again, perfect. Well presented... More

Description
The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station.

Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms.

The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that's quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients.

The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish.

We wish you a pleasant stay and Enjoy !!!
