Ordered a takeaway midweek, delivered in just over an hour which was reasonable during lockdown. Whilst I love my curries hot the rest of my Family prefer a medium or mild version. Unfortunately all the food was overly spiced which was disappointing as we specifically ordered medium/mild. We LOVE the originality of the food served at 1580 but It looks like it’ll be a table for one in future

After a long journey myself and my son were feeling peckish on a Tuesday evening in Sutton Coldfield. As I had a free tastecard we decided to see what was nearby. 1580 was one of the venues that came up just 5 mins from the Ramada where we were staying. As we sat down we were feeling a bit dubious but the ambiance was welcoming and the waiter warm. We were very pleasantly surprised when the food came and tasted yummylicious. I had a paneer and spinach dish where the textures and flavours melted in my mouth. I can honestly say I didn’t want it to stop. My son similarly felt the same about his tikka dish. We would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area. The waiter was very passionate about the origins of the food and explained that their food is all home baked and that they make there own spices. Honestly you can tell.... one of the most delicious Indians I have ever tasted.

After doing veganuary I decided to stick with it and have now become fully fledged vegan. I’ve always loved my Indian food and thought I’d really miss this due to most Indian restaurants cooking with ghee. I found this gem of a restaurant online who have a fab varied vegan menu. The service was fabulous and the waitress is hilarious. From the vegan menu I had the samosa to start, followed by the jalfrezi, served with mushroom rice, Malala fries and a lovely delicate bread. Every dish served was delicious and tasted so fresh. The portions were more than sufficient and the presentation of each dish was very fine cuisine. Obviously that was a lot of food, so I took some home with it. This place is from now on my favourite Indian restaurant. The 5 star hygiene Rating is also another selling point for me. I’d thoroughly recommend you trying this place.

Thank you for the very useful review and feedback. We'll take these on board and discuss internally. We are very sorry about the glass issue. We are not sure why this was a problem that particular evening but will check this, and all the points raised. We are really pleased you enjoyed the food. We can certainly work on the rest so I do hope to see you back here again soon so we can ensure we get your review up to 5 stars. Thanks again for the valuable feedback.

Booked a table for our 25th birthday celebration, on a Saturday evening, which included a party of 6 people. We got to the restaurant and approached the waiter (Naz) at the bar for our table. He wasn't particularly welcoming, but pointed out where our table was. We aren't the biggest eaters and hate leaving any food to waste, but we ordered enough for the group (we ordered a couple of starters, mains and sides to share). At this point Naz rudely said, "this is a Saturday. We have specially reserved you a table (the restaraunt wasn't busy and there were 4 empty tables) and it is a requirement that each member of the group to order 1 main and 1 starter each. This is what is required for a party of your size on a saturday". His attitude was cold, rude and appalling. We were not made aware of this before we reserved a table, and were taken aback by his demeanour. We decided not to stay as he continued to insult our group. He said we could have our drinks for free, but having left a sour taste we paid for them and left (we didn't even get a chance to finish the drinks). Unfortunately as Saturday nights are busy for most restaraunts we were unfortunately unable to find a booking at the last minute, elsewhere. A disappointing visit especially as we were celebrating a monumental occasion. I would genuinely avoid this place, there are better indian restaraunts within the area that have a nicer atmosphere, compassionate waiters and are much more accommodating to all. The restaraunt is hardly appealing, with sticky tables, seats that are sunken, and the toilets are disgustingly maintained/exposed to the kitchen. Disappointed to say the least. We will not be returning.

Went here with friends. We ordered the cone popadoms each as starters but only got one lot of relishes between the three of us.The starts was supposed to consist of this for each of us but we only got the cones for each of us & had to share the relishes. We ordered our main courses & my friend was offered a side dish of sauce & asked if it came with her meal & was told yes only to find out it was extra when paying. I ordered a king prawn korma & again wasn’t told of the extra charge for the king prawns until I was paying. This wouldn’t have been an issue if I had been told this. The glasses that held the popadom cones in weren’t the cleanest.Although it wasn’t dirt more smudges. The same with the water glasses & bottle. I had a pink of cobra with blackcurrent & when I got half way through it I noticed something in the bottom of the glass. When I mentioned it we were told something had been dropped in it.We had insisted that nothing was dropped in it & that the glass wasn’t the cleanest either. The waiter had taken the glass away & we thought that was it.Only for him to return with the refund for that drink. The food was really good & could not fault that part. Seems a few hidden costs that aren’t mentioned on the menu so ask before you order is my advice.

Ordered £50 worth of starters. 5 dishes. The fish ‘bites’ were the size of the crispy bits of batter left in the bottom of a chippy fryer. The chicken wings were ok. The lamb chops were £8 for 3 pieces and on average each was the size of my little finger. The lady who served us was very polite and apologetic, she is a diamond. However, the food was average tasting and portion sizes were the smallest I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I waited to speak to the owner, who is also the chef, or his two sons who clearly saw I was unhappy but they made me wait for the bill for about 15 minutes at which point I got up out of my seat, kindly asked the waitress for my bill and paid and left. I was offered no apology from the owners or their sons, they clearly have no interest in their customers. This experience was so bad I actually feel offended and robbed of £50. Would have happily paid and left a good tip had the food been even decent, let alone good. New owners clearly need to give their head a wobble and go to specsavers before they serve their anorexic dishes out of the kitchen.

I ordered an evening meal for delivery around 8:30pm as I was extremely tired after work. My wife is heavily pregnant I had no intention to drive to the restaurant to collect food so late, hence I ordered for delivery. The restaurant accepted the order and did not inform or update on any issues. After an hour and a half of waiting, I called the restaurant about my food. I was told that there was no delivery driver available and that I had to collect my order. I explained that my little daughter was fast asleep and I couldn’t drive hence I had paid extra for the delivery, but the restaurant said that they couldn’t do anything about it. After two more calls, the restaurant finally said that they couldn’t find anyone and that they had no option other than collection. So, I asked them to cancel my order and refund me the money, which they did not offer by themselves. However, they said that the next time if I place an order, they would put some extra bits in the pack! Well, thanks but no thanks !

Four adults and three children went on Sunday. Usually there is a lovely lady waitress and we always say please 'not too spicy for the children'. The waiter obviously didn't listen because they were all too spicy. I normally have king prawn biriyani and it is usually showered with pomegranate seeds - none to be seen plus that also was spicy! Why don't waiters listen to what the customers want?

I'm so sorry about any mix up in regards to booking. And I'm so sorry you felt your visit wasn't up to scratch. We really pride ourselves on the quality of our food so are at a loss. Do feel free to raise any issues with the staff on the night. They will be more than happy to accommodate any amends. But we do appreciate the feedback.

Highly recommend this restaurant for people who want to experience authentic and tasty Punjabi cuisine. You can tell the restaurant owner is very passionate about the Punjabi style of cooking and explained to us all about how they grind their own spices and slow cook every dish for flavour. We ordered a prawn curry and butter chicken and both were delicious and unique. I was originally going to have a creamy sauce but was advised to try this onion based sauce instead as the prawns release flavour that goes perfectly into the dish. Wow - it really did. The prawns went perfectly with the sauce which was full of flavour and had a nice kick to it. My partner enjoyed his butter chicken too which was very creamy but still flavoursome. Masala chips are nice addition and worth trying. The restaurant itself is well decorated with lots of quirky ambient lighting. The soundtrack was a lot of funky, Motown style music which we also enjoyed. In short: eat here, you won’t regret it!

Tonight we decided on a takeaway and having had our fill of Chinese and Pizzas lately, we really fancied some decent Indian food. But where to go? We had heard good things about 1580 and the menu looked intriguing....so a phone call later and some nice (we hoped) food was on its way. I spoke to Nav who was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and talking me through the choices. Well it was delicious! It arrived hot and very tasty. My hub had Lamb Balti and I had Chicken Sag, portions were good and we accompanied the curries with a Coriander and Chilli Nan, seasoned chips (well you've got to haven't you?) and a veg combo, this was a sort of sizzling starter - a delight for veggie lovers or meat eaters. We don't know why we hadn't ordered from them before and definitely will do again. We are looking forward to eating in as soon as they are fully open, which is hopefully going to be next month. This is good thoughtfully put together, interesting food. You can alter the spices as you wish, they are very helpful.

A unique and varied menu for those who like to try something different. The Dahi Tikka and Chaat Bomb starters are ideal to share, and burst with flavour. The marinated trout was a perfect compliment, beautifully crispy with a delicious side relish. They even have the rarely offered, carrot cake (vegan) for a perfect finish..! All washed down with a cold bottle of Gurkha beer and at a reasonable price of £45 for two.! We loved the cosy interior and attentive service.

Found this restaurant on Google, and thought we'd give it a try. We couldn't of made a better decision! It was one of the best curries we've had in a very long time, the food tasted fresh and was very reasonable in price. We had a warm welcome from the staff, who were friendly, polite and attentive. We will definitely be going back and taking our family and friends with us. Thank you for making our visit a fantastic one x

We had delivery from here. Family is Nepali so ask them to make everything home style. The Momo was amazing, very big ones and the choila was nice. Only downside being delivery took a while on a Tuesday evening and the biriyani was a bit to sweet. But service was friendly and Momo chutney was also delicious. Will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our dinner at 1580 last night. The service was amazing, very friendly and welcoming staff. I would say they are child friendly too, kids were offered crayons and activity sheets to keep them occupied. High chairs are available. Wide range of food items to choose from, there is a kids menu for the little eaters. We ordered Lamb Chops, Momos, Tarka Dhaal, Chicken Jalfrezi along with Garlic Naan and Plain Naan Bread. Kids ordered chicken nuggets and chips served with ketchup pots which they enjoyed. Food taste delicious, especially the Tarka Dhaal which was quite filling. I would definitely recommend to try the Momos, we had the chicken ones. Beautiful cosy restaurant and well lit. Will visit again! :-)
