Visited in the evening after booking a table. Excellent service in terms of efficiency from start to end. Could be a little more personal to make customers feel more special. Food was tasty but a little pricey for the quality, but portion sizes were generous. Chips would be better if cooked in fresher fat. Generally a very good experience but... More

Expensive pint, and extortionate price for a ploughmans sandwich......drinks in dirty glasses, A ploughmans sandwich consists of a stale 5"piece of leather like French bread, garlic buttered on one side, with 2 very thinly sliced pieces of tasteless cheese smothered in an overpowering onion chutney served with a small portion of 3rd rate potato chips, with black and grey markings... My wife and I arrived mid-afternoon expecting the restaurant to be quiet, and so it was, judging by the many vacant tables. When a waiter did approach the bar from somewhere in the nether regions, he was texting on his mobile, completely ignoring us. He turned on his back and disappeared. So did we, in disgust. We went to the... More

Booked on their website and received text acknowledgement, but my booking was not on file when we arrived. We got a table OK but was politely asked to vacate the table towards the end of the meal - a let down to an otherwise great service and meal. The lounge area is quite small and dark, the option is to... More

Lovely rustics surroundings with a busy but reserved atmosphere..perfect for a nice meal with company. Service was spot on and waiting times just as they should be( a rarity for a weekend and something that can be a real big bear) . I had scallop starter and a stuff fry beef main. The starter oozed flavour and even my partner... More

Have been visiting this place for the past 5+ years with friends and have never been disappointed with the service and quality of food provided. They offer a separate gluten free menu and the chef is always willing to advise on alternatives if you have special dietary requirements.

Went for a meal mid afternoon so it would be a bit quieter as car park always looks busy at peak times. Service and food were excellent with the gentleman who served us taking time to chat to us as well. The 2 or 3 course set menu was very good value. Will be a nice place to visit in... More

We went again after a long gap for a pre-booked lunch. The sharing roast platter was excellent. Plenteous and good quality. Was a little cold but otherwise good value. We were impressed by the refurbishment which certainly hasn't been done on the cheap. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Having gone to the Hatton Arms for lunch with a friend beginning of this week we were both appalled at the smell of old fried fat which hit you when you walk in, we were there early so its not as if they had a full bustling restaurant to cook for.. The seating at the front of the place is... More
