Four of us had dinner in this restaurant yesterday evening after a trip to the R.S.C. I had not heard of the restaurant before and wanted a relaxed atmosphere to have a good meal with friends. We had an eclectic group: meat eaters, fish only...More

My only disappointment is that we didn't discover Il Moro earlier. The ambience is crisp and comfortable. The service is efficient and charming. The food is delicious; I can't describe the depth of flavours and freshness of their seafood dishes. Perfect!

As someone who visits Stratford 3 or 4 times a year it was nice to find a new restaurant to visit. We were not disappointed with our choice. My asparagus risotto was heavenly and the panacotta is to die for. Lovely warm welcome, service excellent...More

My wife and I went for a quick dinner and we were both happy, food was good and was nice but doesn't put itself above other places in town. Beef carpatchio was nice but a few more slices would have been nice. My risotto was...More

We visited Il Moro during our weekend getaway. We throughly enjoyed our meal. I had garlic and chilli prawns to start and carbonara for main which were both gorgeous. My fiancé ordered garlic mushrooms to start but the starter he received was different (no mushrooms)...More

Clean, bright and welcoming. Staff are attentive and unobtrusive. Food is superb and offers a welcome change from the standard offerings - doubtless this comes from the owners Sicillian roots. The owner, Massimo, is friendly, rightly proud of his restaurant and keen to ensure that...More

Hi I am staying at the Holiday Inn. How far away are you situated? (walking) in heels.)
2 July 2015|
Response from Christine M | Property representative |
Hi, In heels I would say about 10-15 mins - we're at the top end of Stratford just past Shakespeare's house and the hotel is at the bottom end. Maybe you should get a taxi - save your feet & your hair as it's just started... More
Is there a veggie menu, and do you allow dogs on the outside patio?
20 April 2015|
Response from Christine M | Property representative |
Hi - although we do not have a specific vegetarian menu, as all of our food is cooked from fresh we can be fairly flexible with dietary requests. As for the dogs, as our outdoor seating area is only accessible through the... More

Situated in the heart of Stratford upon Avon, 70 yards from Shakespeare's birthplace and 5 minutes from the Theatres, Il Moro is a family run Italian restaurant with a twist. Chef/owner Massimiliano Melis, from the south of Sardinia believes in serving traditional, simple, home-made Italian cuisine but also enjoys the challenge of infusing flavours from his homeland into his dishes. All of our pasta, bread and desserts are hand-made in house, making Il Moro a little bit more than the average Italian restaurant.Within stylish and elegant surroundings, guests can enjoy a glass of prosecco at the bar before dining or weather permitting, a light bite on the roof terrace which affords stunning views across the rooftops of Stratford. Stepping into Il Moro is like stepping into another world - one that is steeped with tradition and has a real authentic feel but is at the same time contemporary and fresh in its approach to food and service.
