So on a cold December night we stumbled upon this place, we went to the bar and ordered our drinks £8, very cheap from where we come from! We also ordered food which was delicious and tasty! Would recommend highly

Food is very nice and a reasonable price. Only problem i have is that they're guilty of a certain pet hate of mine which is that they have hot dogs on the menu but when you get it you find it's just an ordinary sausage....More

Had a meal here one evening during a recent stag weekend. Located in a basement, the atmosphere can feel a little claustrophobic but the decor is well done and functional. The food and drink selection was good and the staff are excellent. Good service, friendly...More

Waited ages for i think the worst Sunday lunch I've ever had !! Beef, veg overcooked, cold plate. Wish I had made fuss at the time, but not used to making a fuss, plus another customer was having issues with their food. Not a very...More

Went here yesterday for breakfast for my best friend's birthday. It was quiet and so there was only one member of staff on the floor but that was totally fine. He was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, great customer service....More

Very casual place with lovely interior. The staff are quite relaxed and the menu is good. Myself and my friends chose some of the ‘smaller’ dishes, which are in fact still quite large dishes and they were tasty.

Went with my partner. I had the Nacho Chilli burger and white chocolate milkshake and my partner had the hotdog and a mocktail. Food was absolutely fantastic and the mocktail and milkshake were unreal. Service was fantastic, the staff couldn't do enough for you. Would...More

I've walked past The Purple Bear so many time, but today I ventured in... My sister and I saw a sign for Sunday lunch, so decided to give it a go. We arrive at 12 so it was quiet, but people soon began to arrive....More

Thank you David. So the Yorkshire pudding waffle is our way of solving the problem of the fact we don’t have a traditional oven. Seems to be catching on okay for us.

Having drank in the Purple Bear a few times, and dropped over the menu, I finally got round to eating here. It’s a lovely old-fashioned bar with a contemporary twist: individual and unique - which is a pleasant change in these days of Wetherspoons and...More

Nothing we love more than a terrible bear pun. The drinks menu is full of them. And thanks for the review.

Description
Years working in bars - and even longer visiting them - made us want to do it ourselves, focusing on everything we love about this industry: Great drinks, tasty food and BBQ. With that in mind, we cook low and slow BBQ everyday. To keep our quality the highest, we make limited amounts. So when it's gone, it's gone... 'til the next day!
