On the positive side the bar maid/waitress was very friendly and efficient and the pint of dark mild beer was excellent. however, the food was terrible. I've only been once before which was over 4 years ago and the food previously was excellent but on...my recent visit was terrible. Nothing seemed to be freshly cooked, frozen, microwaved? Tasteless Steak and ale pie, miserly veg portions and gravy was just coloured water. Lamb hot pot was small portion for the price and equally miserly veg portion. Will not returnMore

Waited over a hour for Sunday lunch. I ordered beef well done as stated on the menu. It was pink in the middle. I told the waitress she took it away. and came back still pink. I was embarrassed to tell her it was still...the same. Burnt Yorkshire pudding, powdered potato, turnip mashed with parsnip which I don’t like parsnip. Frozen carrots and green beans were cold. I was told we had a long wait as someone had to go to the shop. We were sat near the hatch and we watched the chef get his t shirt and wiping the sweat off his face. Than to have a basket of chips and use his hands to put them on 2 plates. No gloves on. Definitely won’t be going back.More

the powdered mash potato comment wears a bit thin after a while. Please do not come back. Reviews like this often say more about the customer than anything else. Sardines. seagulls, trawlers.

Powder potato, burnt yorkshire,(asked for another one, even though they advertise you can have more, was told none left) cold veg, anaemic roast potatoes, unedable roast beef. Will most definitely not be returning

A lovely pub with a fantastic range of gins. Table service at the moment, with social distancing. Sunday lunch recommended, the menu has a good choice for all. Friendly staff.

I was so disappointed last night as I was looking forward to having a meal there . We went at our booking time and they wanted us to sit firstly on high stool tables two of the lady’s were pensioners then stuck us next to...a very loud group of people . It was my friend’s birthday and she didn’t want to sit there . Once we got a better table we ordered our food . The lamb itself was nice but it was meant to have seasonal vegetables these were frozen and stone cold . For the price I would have at least expected fresh vegetables, as the price was over £12 . I did complain and they did offer more veg . So I will definitely not be going back total disappointmentMore

It is a fair review, as we took the booking on the same evening when we were fully booked (our mistake); Lamb Shank for £12 is very reasonable in current times. I do appreciate we did try to fit your table in when we didn't...More

Fantastic night out at the quiz with my family. Food and service was absolutely perfect. We came on Thursday which is quiz night and the quiz was ran extremely efficiently and was a good laugh for the whole place as everyone was involved. Ellie and...Viktorija behind the bar were perfect in ensuring everybody felt welcome and were so friendly the entire time and their service was superb the whole time to go with that friendly attitude. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a good night.More

Visited this pub a few times lately and it is now our new local despite a longer walk to get there. There is plenty of outdoor seating which is great for the weather we have been having. The food is lovely and the selection of...drinks is brilliant. I have visited with both family and friends - my friend brought her dog along on our visit and they are very dog friendly! We were so impressed. The best thing about the pub is definitely the staff - they are so friendly and make an effort to chat to you. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Love this little pub!More
