It is not clear what age group this pub is aimed at. A group of children in school uniforms with colouring books was not quite what we expected to see as we entered. As we sat down to eat our meal a couple of them took to running through the restaurant area. Otherwise, pleasant surroundings and food OK.

Good Evening Lala197, Thank you for taking the time to review The Seahorse. We are a family friendly restaurant so I do apologise that there were Children that ran past your table as this isn't acceptable. We did speak to their parents and they did keep them at bay but thank you for informing us so that we can keep... More

Visited for a Saturday evening meal without booking. The restaurant was completely booked but quite a few small tables available in bar area which was perfect. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. We both ordered spit roast chicken with fries. It arrived promptly and tasted delicious.

The seahorse is almost about to be great and then the service is a let down. They always seem to forget something or the meal takes ages to arrive. Great spot, OK menu just need attention to detail on service.

Having previously had lunch here 6 months ago we decided to return as it had been very good. We visited on Monday New Year bank holiday where you would think the management may have guessed they would be busy. However they had so few staff on it meant the service was incredibly slow and often just forgotten. It took 20... More

Good Evening Enny011 I am sorry to hear of your experience on New Years Bank Holiday. We did think it would be busy but due to unforeseen circumstances, we were short staffed. In the future I will have back up staff ready to go if this kind of thing happens again as your wait times were way too long and... More

Went here with 10 of my family for the first time on bank holiday Monday. Full of families dining but very large so not too noisy. We did have to wait a long time for our food so it was a good thing that we were not in any rush. The food was fine. My husband was happy that his... More

On my last visit I thought things had gone downhill a bit this visit confirmed it. The staff were friendly enough just not very knowledgeable about the food or wine on offer. The food was also not great no empty plates just one empty place setting as the sea bass served to me was decidedly smelly and not something I... More

First time visit, after long walk, but we had booked to be sure of s table and it looked like that is a necessity as it's very popular. Very attractive pub, full to the gills with families dining, but because of the attractive layout of the pub which breaks its down into smaller rooms it isn't noisy. Good varied menu,... More

Nice gastro-pub - food good, however the service was really slow. The staff were polite and apologetic but we had to wait ages for our food, in fact the waiter said it probably wasn't worth waiting to order a pudding! Even waiting for tap water took about 20 minutes and two requests. Luckily we weren't in a rush but it... More

I have been twice recently, once at lunch time and once in the evening. On both occasions the atmosphere was lovely and the food very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Driving back from London and we were in need of sustenance. Took a detour via Guildford as the M3 was all fouled up. A friend works in Guildford so after a quick phone call he recommended this place, really glad he did. Greeted by friendly staff, we sat in the restaurant. Starters of bresaola and breaded Brie swiftly arrived and... More
