My son, his wife and I went for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was perfect. Starting with an excellent gin we went into the newly built restaurant which was beautifully designed to fit in with the ancient building. All items on the.menu looked extremely tempting, I chose roast beef and I can honestly say it was the best I... More

I was so surprised. The idea of pulled rib in a burger did not sound appealing. But I really wanted a burger so I ordered it. It was delicious. Pink in the middle juicy and slightly spicy. It was down right the best burger I have ever eaten! Accompanied by the fact that they served cabbage with butter and garlic... More

Went along here for dinner with friends. Had some great Ribeye Steaks. They obviously source local ingredients as the staff knew the provenance of everything they served up. I thought the crafted gins were a tad overpriced. A good night out.

Visited The Greyhound for Sunday lunch on the spur of the moment! Friendly staff who were attentive right from the start! We had the roast pork and veg which was delicious! The buttermilk waffles we had for desert were disappointing and quite dry! Nice pub and atmosphere! Will definitely be going back there again!

We had dinner here & found a real "pub" ambience with a good dinner, in fact an all day menu. We enjoyed a cod main followed by sweets- waffles, Apple fritters & several other interesting options. The staff were welcoming & served us courteously. This was supported by a reasonably priced wine list- unusual! We enjoyed our evening & will... More

The soup we chose was cold but so was everything else. Despite this lunch took an age to serve. An experience not to be repeated.

I am sorry you came to visit us when our kitchen is closed due to a total refurbishment, extension and replacement of the equipment. The soup, salads, sandwiches and cheese is a very tompeary solution until we reopen the brand new kitchen next week. This will be followed next month with our new room and remodelled interior and garden. I... More

Contrary to other reviews the service we had when visiting on a Sunday about 3pm was excellent. We sat in the bar area and shared the monkfish starter. This was nice chunks of monkfish deep fried with a tasty curry mayo. We both opted for the pork belly main which comes with chorizo and squid. The portion was a good... More

Luke warm soup in cold dishes! Refrigerated bread! Ice cold butter! Freezing sausage roll! Dry old cheese that had seen better days! What a dreadful lunch for £9 per head!

My wife and I had travelled from our home in S.W France to visit her 92 year old, active stepmother who lives in the village. There is a considerable choice of restaurants. We chose the Greyhound as it seemed to offer more informal surroundings but with a decent quality in the old half timbered building. We ate at Sunday lunch... More

Nice decoration and surroundings but we felt the food was expensive (£15 for an overcooked burger with a bit of lettuce and skinny chips). The staff were friendly and professional and it wasn't their fault they were asked to try and sell you extras to an already pricey meal - e.g. chorizo jam at £4. it's an interesting menu but not... The menu has a large range of freshly prepared seasonal dishes using the very best suppliers. Everything from stocks and sauces, ice cream, to bread we make ourselves, we even smoke our own fish. Our menu ranges from the classics to more complex dishes. We also have a selection of small savoury dishes to share. Watch out for our daily changing specials and our very popular themed nights.
