Finally we found an establishment that served all day that wasn't a chain. The Beer battered cod and chips were PERFECT. My other half had the Sausages and Mash, again, SUPERB. It is an easy going place, no frills. Their Best Bitter is lovely.

Would be perfect local to me, but food and welcome always been awful. Very hopeful after recent change of management, and thought I'd give it a try this evening - turns out food is still terrible.

This was a very interesting place to visit for lunch, and we wouldn't have known it existed if it wasn't for our friends bringing us here. The staff were friendly but the food reminded me of school dinners back in the 70's! I had the...More

A great selection of beers, and the most amazing food. We were only here for lunch but . . . the ham hock and cheese rolls . . . well. They were amazing. Lovely service too.

Hi, Just seen the question and a bit late answering but they do have food for a vegetarian and best checking when going on website or ring. My partner is a vegetarian and always enjoyed the food there.

The Old Cannon is a Brewery, Bar, Brasserie and Bed & Breakfast. Our brasserie menu (Cannon Fodder) changes with the seasons and has starters and main dishes for all tastes and appetites and, if you are still ready for more, our puddings and British cheeseboard are definitely worth saving space for. There are at least three daily changing specials. For those with a smaller appetite, many of the most popular main courses are offered as a light main too.
