We stopped in the cafe for lunch on a Saturday. It was fairly busy, but the service was good and coping fine. I had a sandwich, coffee and cake. The sandwich was fresh and tasty, made with very good quality ingredients, and worth the extra...More

Ate here on a Saturday lunchtime. The sandwiches were okay but nothing better than you would get in an average cafe and certainly no sign of being prepared by award winning chefs. Service was chaotic - I have no problem being with the waiting staff...More

Many thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear you found the sandwiches no better than average. Were you expecting something different to what you ordered or what was stated on the menu? Where possible we like to make sure our menu descriptions are...More

Great cakes, good sandwiches, a selection of light meals, reasonable prices, good quality, friendly and efficient service - what more do you want in a cafe? I can’t understand the few negative reviews. Frankly, the way the cafe is always packed speaks for itself!

We had just a quick drink but noticed that most of the food was being left by other customers. It really didn't look great.More

Dear WalkingWithBoots What a shame that you didn't actually try any of the food from our award-winning chefs. We have received so much excellent feedback about the new menus in recent weeks that we're delighted with the quality of what is on offer. As you...More

Visiting Bishop's Palace, this seemed the obvious place for a light refreshment as it's practically in the grounds. My partner selected a slice of blueberry and lemon (I think) cake, which she declared delicious, whilst I chose a sausage roll having a more savoury preference....More

Love the Bishop's Palace and Gardens and often take the grandchildren there. What a shame the cafe isn't more "child friendly" with their menu though. We took grandson here yesterday and spent £16 on two egg & cress sandwiches, a tea, a coffee and a...More

During our visit to the Palace and Gardens we stopped for lunch half way through our visit to enjoy food in the Bishops Table. The coffee was good and the food was lovely and fresh.

Firstly the locations is excellent, and fantastic setting. Dog friendly which makes it great for those with animals. Food was nice in general, freshly prepared and nice pricing. The negatives: they need a little better tidying up tables, and I noticed lots of dirt on...More

Came here for a cup of tea whilst in Wells. Stunning location. Good choice of leaf teas. Sandwiches and cakes also look good. Gift shop in the same building. Also no extra charge for hot water as some places do.
