We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the King William during a two-day stay in Bath. The food was beautifully prepared, delicious, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Staff are friendly without being overly familiar. I would definitely go back again.

Thought twice about booking a table here as it was a 20min walk from our hotel but wow was it worth the walk! Friday night, 3 course meal in this beautiful Georgian building couldn't have been better. Excellent service, great atmosphere and food out of this world. Thank you!

We turned up unannounced on a weeknight to the King William but were offered a table and quickly served by our slightly harried but gracious hosts. Since it was late and we weren't that hungry we decided to have 2 entres (starters) and a dessert; the crab linguini, the duck liver and the bread & butter pudding respectively. It was... More

Absolutely great place! They were very accommodating for my friend's dietary restrictions. The food was gorgeous, I cannot put it into words. The staff were a delight and really nice. The interior was cosy and atmospheric. The ice cream & sorbets were amazing! Perhaps a bit pricey but still nothing too bad for the quality that we got! Would definitely... More

I had heard much of the reputation of this place and had wanted to try it for a while. I love the quaintness, cosiness of the venue and it clearly has a lot of history. My mug of tea, much needed as on a long journey, was excellent but I struggled initially to find something to suit my taste on... More

Quirky, beautiful food, great staff and a fabulous atmosphere ensured the dinner at the King William was a treat. I don't want to spoil the experience but this place is a real gem and the Sunday Roast is a treat (We had Steak instead of Topside but who cares it was all fabulous).... Defo my favourite place in Bath to... More

Great little spot that really is just for locals, a little off the beaten track and takes a bit of walking to get there. We went to Bath for a day of touring and sightseeing last week and it was a bit chilly November weather. Having done all the major sites we decided to get off the beaten track to... More

Very good food. I had the devilled lamb and kidney samosa. Hake with mash, sweet corn and pancetta with the cheese board to finish. All of it very good. Service was friendly and relaxed, it was early evening on a Monday. Only slight quibble was portion size compared to price. But it was very good. At those prices it's a... More

Unpretentious, welcoming pub, also doing top notch, imaginative, restaurant-standard food. Very nice beer, also.

I had a pre-ordered dinner with 15 friends at the King William. Every person was delighted with their 2 courses and the excellent service. The dishes were of the highest quality, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed a selection of starters and main courses with the lamb and hake meals getting the highest accolades. Make sure if you... More

Description
When the King William restaurant in Bath was converted from the knackered pub it used to be, it became it gastronomic hotspot for Bath-ites who adore the excellent food and relaxed setting. The ground floor is a pub, with the fine dining room upstairs, all now eclectically kitted out with in shades of mauve with antiques, chandeliers and daily blackboard specials. Seasonal, free-range, organic and local sum up the provenance perfectly, for dishes like fried squid with fennel, ruby chard and green sauce and main of fantastic braised lamb for two with herb broth, mash and local greens. Superb small-producer beers and ales and a blistering wine list crown King William a top restaurant in Bath.
