We tried this pub on a Saturday evening - there were four of us. Nice atmosphere - if a little bright. The menu looked interesting. The first hiccup came on ordering drinks - they had run out of drinks we wanted. The service was very slow, both for ordering and getting drinks and for taking our food order. The staff... More

We were staying locally so this pub was an ideal location for us. I had a delicious mushroom, spinach and hazelnut pie and my husband had the pork belly which he really enjoyed too. The staff were friendly and there seemed to be lots of locals enjoying their Saturday night with family members and dogs. My only slight grumble is... More

Had a relaxing pub lunch here with a couple of friends. The food and the service was excellent. Good menu and all very reasonably priced - I would say well above average standard of food. Staff were attentive without being a nuisance like in some places. All in all well done Cross Keys - we will definitely be back !

Went with a group for lunch. We were put in the lower dining area which was freezing and the heaters turned off. Very slow service for not much more than "snacks". Food average when it came (with no apologies or even a smile). Couldn't even manage to get an omelette right! Overall, the worst lunch in a pub I can... More

A really warm and welcoming atmosphere here, with friendly and efficient bar staff and reasonably priced good value food. Good beers on.

Went with 10 friends for lunch after a walk. Ordered hot drinks which were luke warm bordering cold at best and then had to wait nearly 1 hour for our light lunches of sandwiches, soups, jacket potatoes and omelettes. The pub was not busy at all. The bowls of soup were luke warm. The omelettes were so over done they... More

Enjoyed tasty soup and fish and chips by the warm fire on a cold day, staff friendly, service prompt and food reasonably priced, really enjoyed the puddings.

Welcoming atmosphere and nicely decorated surroundings. Well kept ales on tap and a nice bottle of Malbec with lunch. Crayfish and garlic mushroom starters followed by a great roast. Only gripe was the quality of the meat - sometimes hard to tell though from a chefs point of view. Certainly be going back as the normal menu looked good to.

Took my elderly mum and disabled brother here for lunch. Had a fabulous game casserole with sweet potato mash. The staff were really friendly and the menu was really imaginative.
