I don't understand why there is an obsession with the Bath bun. I tried this and found it to be a boring white roll that any supermarket would sell for pennies.

£2.5 for a cup of tea, £3 for a bun that is actually only bread ... not impressed ! I’m sure you could get a Bath bun somewhere else for one third of that price !

Had scones and tea because Bath bun run out, disappointed to not have tried it but the scone and clotted cream was good, cute little place (I am not local so I cannot say what is truly a good scone, but I liked it.)

Shame to say we had a bad experience here. Tea too strong, when I asked that they bring the water and tea bag separately so that I could do it myself. Not that difficult a request. Disappointed with the bath bun, really not that special...More

I loved it; the staff were great. The making of a proper tea was explained as was the proper pronunciation of "scone". Great tea, great scone fantastic staff. Very enjoyable experience.

Visited here on my own as I wanted to try the bath bun. I therefore ordered the bath bun with house tea. The bath bun here was really well made and it had little pieces of sugar inside (for the future joy of my dentist),...More

Though the appearance of this tea room is authentic/alluring my guest was shocked to observe her Earl Gray tea was in a tea bag whilst the Victoria sponge slice was plain on top, is no icing sugar! The staff were very friendly and excellent though...More

I took a friend for high tea and although very nice not quite what I expected. We were asked to choose which sandwiches ( 1 sort each) and cake (a slice each) we would like. We also had a scone/jam/cream and pot of tea. All...More

We visited on a Monday for lunch. We were initially drawn by the cafe front as it's oldy worldy which is what we love. Same with the crockery. It wasn't busy so we easily got a table...by the window which was nice. Not a large...More

I can now answer my own question in case anyone needs this info in the future. The Bath Bun Tea Shoppe does offer a beautiful gluten-free high tea selection (sandwiches, scones, treats) but not a GF bath bun itself. Still... More
