First sunning weekend of the year in Bath. Everywhere was packed. Walked along the river and chanced upon this gem by chance. Really pretty little sun trap garden with loads of space. Lovely gin brewed next door, and a light lunch of goats cheese panacotta and tapenade. Well worth the walk.

We had a room for four nights. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious by European standards, and the atmosphere relaxing. When we went to bed esrly, the pub was still open but the noise level was low and did not present a problem. This inn is convenient to the train station and very reasonably priced. We also had a... Have been here two weekends running and did not disappoint on both occasions. Had a saturday lunch here with fifteen others before the rugby, all the food was excellent and all came promptly. Then again for Sunday lunch, the roast beef was delicious as were the accompaniments and the most fab roast spuds. Really very good.

In Bath for the night and came here with friends for their 'Moroccan evening'. There is very limited bar space, it felt more like a restaurant. It was a Tuesday evening and it felt about 50% full, but much busier than other places in Widcombe when we walked down. The food was good, there were some excellent choices of Meze... More

The days we finish work on a Friday it's always a trip down to the this great place. Staff are always so friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Suitable to bring children and dogs in which makes it all the more friendly. Usually it's just nibbles that I buy i.e. Chips or olives, but after buying a main meal, wow.... More

The burger I ordered came quickly and tasted very good! I also highly recommend the brownie. The service was good and the pub had a nice atmosphere.

The food here is superb. Fresh and seasonal ingredients are used in imaginative ways and you can tell that a lot of thought goes into the menu - which changes every few weeks whilst retaining the firm favourites for those who might complain if they disappeared!. We have eaten here over many years and can honestly say we have never... More

We visited this pub for a drink twice on a Friday evening - before and after a Bath Rugby game. We often park our car on Widcombe Hill and walk down to the ground, and this seemed a good place to stop for a drink on the way. The guy behind the bar on our first visit couldn't have been... More

Went here for a friends birthday, ordered steak medium to well, was served rare. I hate sending food back to be re-cooked/changed, at the price you are paying here for steaks you would expect it to be cooked as you have ordered. Get the chefs to cook it correctly. My friends venison was served completely overlooked. This used to be... More

Had a really lovely evening celebrating a family birthday. Staff were familiar and friendly. Food was good (on the higher end of the price scale) but great portion sizes. Has literally the best pesto ever! The husband says a few more ale options would be good though.....
