Great food, great beer, great staff. 100% recommend to everyone. Lovely place to take your family or friends whatever the weather.

I attended for a family party catering for over 50 people, all the meals were pre ordered, all the orders were correct, every meal was served hot. The food was excellent. The dining room staff worked tirelessly to keep everyone happy. The decor was homely, the open fires were lit, we were all made to feel welcome, it was a... More

We went as a family and the children's menu for our 3 children was more that adequate....they loved the banana ice cream. Our food was really tasty and well presented and we loved the setting. It was a bit soulless inside with no music or ambience but maybe that was because it was quiet.

The place sits on a bend in the river Severn. I had forgotten how lovely the pub itself is. We visited on a Saturday lunch time and the place wasn't even half full. This maybe due to the food. There isn't a limited menu, which isn't a bad thing but the food was just 'okay'. I remember the food being... More

Over the past 12 months we have been several times and neither myself or anyone else in out group has had a bad meal. Have tried many other restaurants in and around Shrewsbury and this has got to be one of the best and now our go-to restaurant! The menu is fairly small however I'm still always stuck for choice... Beautiful views across a bend in the River Severn. Menu extensive and traditional with its own unique twist. Order a pie and they put your name on it to prove they baked it! Very comfortable and accommodating. Service prompt and polite Good value.

Visited Saturday lunch time, party of 18. We had booked and ordered choices in advance. We had 3 tables in the conservatory which was lovely. The meal and service was very good. The children's menu was very reasonable, and wasn't all chips and nuggets. Food is not expensive, vegetables always cooked just right, and plenty of them, menu is kept... More

Apart from the location there's nothing to recommend this establishment. The service is shoddy at best with tables left un-cleared. Food is basic 'gastropub' but missing the 'gastro'. Very basic pies, chilli con carne and a bit of fish...all pretty uninspiring. Local scuttlebutt is that this place is up for sale which, if true, might explain the general absence of... More

We've popped in for a quick snack on many occasions and always found the food and beer to be first class. We've usually been outside overlooking the river Severn but today with our two grandchildren we were at a sunny table inside with January sun streaming through the window. The children had sausage, beans and chips and we shared a... More
