After being disappointed with the last few pubs we have been to I am happy to say we have found an amazing gem of a pub to get a drink in and also some amazing homemade food! We first called in here about 3 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon about 5pm hoping to get some food. It was the... More

Lunch with family who live nearby. Nice place. Nice people. They had pies. I had smoked haddock. My meal was nice but I wish I'd taken my local family's advice and had the fab looking home made pies. Go. Have some pie and a nice hand pulled pint. Proper pub. I like it.

A good friend took me here for the Sunday carvery. It was very busy and I think he had to book a table. When I tasted the food I realized why. Very good indeed! The interior is sort of 60s mock old English, which is getting rare these days, but is quite nostalgic for us baby boomers. Great views over... More

The landlord and landlady are very nice as and welcoming as where the people in the bar, the beer was excellent, I did not eat there but the food looked very good. I am from Lancashire but the crack was very good to. I will be back there soon

We were taken here by family for a birthday meal and it was lovely. Untouched, rustic pub with good homemade food. Two had fish and chips and the cod was like a whale in batter that tasted delicious. I went for steak and Stilton pie and sister in law went for meat and potato both were delicious. Will definitely visit again

Great place to eat outside on a sunny day. Picnic tables available on a sports field next to the pub with great views down the valley. The food was well portioned and tasty pub grub. Good selection of real ale to wash it down.

Me and my husband visited this pub, looking forward to a lunchtime meal and a pint of real ale. When we asked at the bar if we could open a tab, were told , quite rudely, by a lady, we don't take cards, only cash or cheques. I thought I had travelled back to 1980, a lot of banks don't... More

Love this place, awesome food, great beer & friendly atmosphere! Views from here down the Rivelin Valley are lovely & make your beer taste even sweeter! Try the hot pork sandwich with gravy & chips, wash it down with a pint Taylor's Landlord!
