I went out for a meal with my daughter midweek. Excellent service and as usual gorgeous middle eastern food: good portions of everything cooked with subtlety and care. And not expensive. I don't understand why there are so few people there: it's an under-rated gem. And they do takeaway too. Highly recommended. Best middle-eastern food in Sheffield.

This used to be the Tollgate Inn. I'm glad to say that it has been completely renovated and inside looks stunning. The service here is absolutely first rate, whether it is your first visit or you are a regular. The food is gorgeous. The Kibbeh could be a meal on their own, they are the best I've had in a... Visited this restaurant for the first time after buying a 'deal' of the Internet. The welcome was very warm and friendly - we were invited to sit wherever we wanted. Although fairly early, quite a lot of middle eastern families, including children of all ages were dining. We decided to sit amongst them in one side of the restaurant. The... More

This is now called Levantine, under new ownership. My friend and I are vegetarian, so we shared six starters between us. There was excellent choice, and the food was fresh and subtly cooked. Delicious falafel, stuffed baby aubergines, rice and lentils, salad, hummus and halloumi cheese. And very cheap, we had all this, olives and two mint teas for £21.... More

I have been to Babylon and loved the food and ambience.. Now it's up with new ownership and new name--it's called Levantine Cuisine. Ambience is different but nice..Floor seating is not there..Sheesha are just for show and they don't serve them. Menu has typical Arabic dishes. And they food is surprisingly awesome.Hope the maintain the standards of Babylon ...

The food was bland but salty. The lamb was overcooked, service ok. Curry was more like rice and chicken, no sauce. Salad was nice

Based in the former Tollgate Inn, Babylon offers a taste of the middle east in a spacious setting. The varied menu boasts a choice of curries, biryani, sheekh, chicken and lamb kebabs and skewers, as well as other traditional dishes such as the Yemeni delicacy ‘aseed’. The restaurant also offers a private sheesha lounge outside, in keeping with its authentic... More
