Food was ok, not full menu on offer reason chef on leave, pathetic service, full taste card discount not honoured irrespective of mentioning multiple times on phone and online booking. additional service charge as others mentioned. I will not go again.

I ordered for delivery and it arrived in an hour as advertised; delivery cost £2. The food was not even warm, and one of the orange, oily curries had opened in the plastic bag so there was orange oil on everything...and us. We'd ordered poppadoms,...onion bhaji, a naan, some rice and 2 curries. Nothing was as advertised - the poppadoms said they came with onions, mango chutney and mint sauce, but there was nothing. The onion bhaji was a foil dish with bits of broken bhaji in it; no garnish or sauce as you get if you it in the restaurant. One of the curries was passable once I'd heated it up in my over, but the other went straight in the bin - it was a spinach based curry and it looked like they'd put it in the liquidiser, it was a container full of dark green mush. I can only think they may use frozen spinach. I emailed straight away to complain about the quality, and I've not even had a response.More

Tried lunch buffet today. The taste was well below average. Ripoff - They charged me 10% service charge which was not mentioned anywhere or told by anyone before we dined. 10% more if you dine more than 3 people. Do not expect authentic Indian food....Highly disappointed.More

A group of us dined here on a Monday night. It was moderately busy, and the service was acceptable - although not the friendliest. The food was a bit hit and miss. The starters were tasty, but the main I ordered was rather bland. I'm...fortunate to spend time in India fairly regularly, and despite my hopes, this restaurant did not tick the authentic Indian box (a mix of Pakistani and Indian dishes on menu). Price wise it was fine. I'd say this is OK for a basic meal / group night out, but if you are a true Indian food fan, you may check elsewhere.More

We went for a family birthday meal on the 30th November. From the start the female front of house staff were abrupt and quite frankly rude. The food however was excellent but too expensive. An ok experience but wouldn't recommend it to someone else.

Really disappointing service. Was seated for over half an hour and not attended to by any waiting staff despite trying to attract their attention. My wife and I were sat for over 30 minutes without a drink or being attended too. Really disappointing as we...have loved this curry house prevomiously.More

We arrived on time for our Sunday Buffet booking, only to stand in the doorway until the hostile lady mopping the floors scowled at us and decided to ask what we thought we were doing. We explained we’d booked a table, she responded with a...huffy shrug, then we got to stand there a while longer. After fifteen minutes a man seated us and after a further fifteen I went looking forward a drinks menu. We weren’t allowed one, but we were supplied a scrap of paper with a QR code on it in order to look the menu up on a smart phone. At this point we weren’t feeling welcome or enjoying the long and boring wait. We thought we might leave and try the Instagram-influencer street food place a few doors down. Just as we were putting our coats back on, the buffet food came out. It was the best looking buffet I’ve ever seen at an Indian restaurant. It was a vast selection and all labelled and nicely laid out. There was everything you could dream of and It tasted authentic and delicious with no pools of oil. There was even a Chaat Station and here we did encounter helpful service; the lady serving on that was lovely and friendly, helping me choose. The Vegetarian choices were every bit as good as the meat selection, I finally got to try Keema. There was an impressive array of garnishes, chilli chutney, fresh coriander. Indian puddings were available alongside ice cream. There was also an obvious effort to keep everything clean and tidy and topped up, an area where so many restaurants fall short. it really paid off. By the end of our meal, we were already trying to work out when we could come back here again. Even though the staff are a mixed bag, the buffet food is awesome, the selection of dishes is unrivalled and the price is fair. What I wouldn’t do is to try and eat here using the useless phone-menu and relying on the staff to bring me dishes I’d asked for. That won’t work because the actual table service is terrible. But I would go out of my way to visit again for the buffet.More

We booked for Saturday lunch as we thought it would be a lovely place to meet friends, but it was not the case. We didn't know it was buffet but thought that's fine. Quality of food was ok not bad but the service was totally...rubbish. Our booking was for 12.30 and at 2.26 pm the manager very rudely asked us if we are done while we were still finishing our desserts. He plainly said to us you have been here for 2 hours and other customers are waiting. Well that's not our fault, they should work out on their booking and managing system rather than asking customers to leave. One of the worst customer service I have ever come across. The staff seriously need some training or else it will definitely be bad for the restaurant in the long run. None of us will visit HOF ever again when there are plenty of other lovely restaurants in Reading.More

We booked for a group of 8 and had been told this was a good restaurant. The staff we very busy and had no time for us. the menu on your phone was tricky and din not work for every one. the food here was...mandioca and way over priced. there was a 20% service charged added to the bill, there was no mention of this at the start or indeed on the tiny menu on my phone . the female staff member stated she was unable to take the service charge off and played dumb when questioned what it was for. this restaurant is over priced and the food is not the best, avoid and go else where.More
