This place is an Oxford institution which takes me back to my student days. The interior is a little over the top (bling!) and is slightly too cramped but the selection of teas and the scones with jam and clotted cream are superb! Highly recommend.

An attractive looking venue and one that gave the feel of a traditional coffee shop, after all it is the location of the first Coffee Shop in England. Decor is classy. Reading many of the recent reviews we found very much the same, the service...More

Having visited New Zealand last year, where they really know how to produce a fabulous flat white, I am always on the look out for something similar in this country. I visited The Grand Cafe this morning with my husband, luckily we had not read...More

The cafe is beautifully decorated but they have tried to put too many tables in so it was a bit cramped. The food was OK but service was slow and really overpriced. I will not be going back.

I wanted to like the Grand Cafe, I really did. What should be a gem in a busy part of Oxford is a rip off. First let me say all the people working there were polite, they are not the issue. I spent a week...More

The place looks nice but the service was slow, the food was really disappointing and hugely overpriced.

We went for afternoon tea because it looked like a beautiful and interesting building with considerable history. The menu looked lovely. The choices of tea and coffee were good and were beautiful when they arrived. The sandwiches were stale, underfilled and on thick bread. The...More

Dogs are not allowed in the Grand Cafe. It's not that big and tables are close together. However, there is a lovely cafe in Bath, should you visit there called Cafe Luca and they certainly do allow dogs but then it's a... More
