On our first night in Oxford we decided to visit Gee's Restaurant. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. We enjoyed a cocktail before dinner near the bar. The restaurant layout and seating is very comfortable and the service very welcoming. The cod croquettes were enjoyable and the lamb shank was lovely.

The good bits first, the dinning room is lovely and the service was friendly and efficient, now the rest. Food prices are on the high side and a 12.5% service charge is automatically added to your bill. The menu has a Spanish slant to dishes but do not come up to scratch, 2 of us shared a tapas plate to... More

The scent from the flowering plants and shrubs on the way down the entrance corridor is the first treat on offer here. Our food choices were all delicious, especially the roasted beetroot salad as a starter. Mains of rabbit, pumpkin and sea bream were all very tasty (careful with the salt) and the deserts were especially good - do try... More

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant last night. We had a great evening. I ordered the crab pasta and my boyfriend ordered the lamb shoulder. We ended up swapping dishes as the pasta was too al dente for me. The lamb was lovely - really tasty, and my boyfriend enjoyed the pasta. But, later that night and again this... More

Dear Christine D, We are very sorry to hear your boyfriend have had food poisoning recently but strongly dispute the allegation it was from our restaurant. We were given no opportunity to disprove your allegation or compensate you if proven. The day of you visit was a particularly busy one, with many other customers consuming similar menu items and we... More

Lunch here was very efficient and the food was delicious . The beetroot salad starter was light but delicious and the pizetta also very good . The vegetarian risotto was unusual (with ginger) but good . The aubergine parmigano was ok but at least there are several good vegetarian options to choose from . The vegetable side dishes were also... More

We were staying in the Old Parsonage and Decided we would venture out to Gees for an evening meal. It's a nice easy walk from the hotel - and same would be true for the Randolph - along a dark but busy road. The food was very good with warm and welcoming service. The choice of wine by the glass... Recommended to go as somewhere special we found the experience underwhelming, even though the environment is very pleasant. From the outset we found the service superficial and lacked a personal touch. The food was mediocre and pricey for what it was (compared to our normal restaurants) - and on top of that there's an automatic 12.5% service charge (for what!?)... More

The restaurant is very pretty and it has a lovely atmosphere. There was good choice on the menu and the food was delicious. If there was any criticism it would be our waiter was a little too efficient and it felt like we were rushed through our meal. That being said I would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting... More

Stunning food, fabulously service and beautiful venue. Should be higher on the rankings! We loved everything about this venue. Looked after my elderly father to perfection.
