This place really needs to get a new bar lady who is attentive and has knowledge of food and drink. I understand you can't know everyrhing but come on no beer or food knowledge. The amount of times I had to stand at the bar waiting for service was mundane! Was going to eat but couldn't be bothered with the... More

Good food with 3 good veggie options. Excellent service and good value for money. Nice beer and cider. Recommend this pub.

We found it impossible to walk past this tavern without popping in for a drink. Once inside the atmosphere and choice of real ales is great.

The staff and service was the most impressive part of our visit - welcoming, friendly, attentive and yet not intrusive. Food was good, a good range of beers, overall a lovely lunch.

We were using the upstairs fun tonight room and found it perfect time for our rooms. The young staff were responsive and the beer selection superb. Wish it was my local!

I had wanted to experience a meal in an authentic English tavern, and St Aldates surely left me happy. The ambience is good, and the bartender, who is also the waiter, was very friendly, patient and efficient. We did not have to wait long for the food to arrive and it was good.

The atmosphere was very friendly. The menu is limited but tasty. I always enjoy a visit to the St Aldates Tavern, handy fo a swift beer whilst waiting for the bus.

I booked the Blue Room in St. Aldate's Tavern for a birthday party for my boyfriend. I must commend the team for their impeccable service. They were helpful and responsive to my requests every step of the way, making the whole experience so much less stressful than it could have been! For a private booking for the whole night with... Visited with a group of work colleagues after our Xmas meal on a busy Friday evening. Whilst busy we were able to get seats and most importantly we could actually hear the conversation, ie, not a loud/noisy pub. Bar staff very friendly and know what they were doing.

Nice beer and wine but £8.50 for a santini tomato salad with only one tomato in it is a bit of a joke. At the Nosebag, our normal haunt for such things, we get much more for much less. Mentioned this to a member of staff but she was unmoved.
