We went here with a six year old and a baby in buggy. The staff were accommodating and seated us despite the place being busy. Food and drinks were excellent and good prices too.

My wife and I took a city break in Oxford and visted the Butterry Cafe. I only had a Latte because they don't do gluten free (I am coeliac). My wife had a smoothie and a piece of carrot cake. My Latte wasn't a Latte; it was just a milky coffee, and a terrible one at that. The carrot cake... More

I like to use the independent coffee shops in Oxford. Stopped here for coffee and cake - the decaf was pretty tasteless and the cake was stale. I complained to the waiter but got little more than a grudging apology. Oh well, I guess there are too many tourists to worry about the locals!

We were hoping to be able to sit outside at the tables provided but it was a little too cold even though the sun was shining so we sat inside by the window. The staff were friendly and polite and our order arrived quickly and was very good. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant which was very good as... More

Called in for a snack and coffee on a busy bright Saturday morning. The location is great when the sun is shining as there is ample sitting in the street. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean and tidy. It is just a little expensive for what you get, don't mind paying extra for great food... More

Visited late Sunday afternoon after a rather cold 2 hr Morse,Lewis and Endeavour walking tour,my husband and I decided to try The Buttery because of reference in the tour.In desperate need of something to warm myself up and not being a tea or coffee drinker I chose the leek and potato soup.Waitresses were helpful and checked that it was still... We were walking down the street, sun was shining and we wanted to grab a snack to enjoy it. The buttery had all types of take away breads with interesting fillings. We both got the smoked salmon and it was fantastic. Most cafes skimp on the fish, this one didn't. Helped make our stay enviable add we ate good food... More

We called in to this tea rooms today, and sadly it did not live up to expectations. Firstly they were very busy (which we took as a good sign as it's clearly popular) but that did mean the place seemed a bit disorganised. The drinks / food were quite pricey, and did not really prove to be worth the price.... More

We visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime, party of three. We had a selection of baguettes and panini (ciabatta bread, toasted), the latter served with chunky fries. Tuna mayo, sausage and pastrami with cheese, our three fillings washed down with a good cup of tea. Service was good. Food was good. Just the ticket.
