On a guided walking tour our guide recommended this charming pub. I doubt whether we'd have known of its existence otherwise. We're pleased to have eaten there as it has a long and fascinating history. This is one of the pubs frequented by DI Morse...More

Very quirky pub - very traditional and old fashioned British. Drinks are a little expensive but barely. Courtyards have great atmosphere on a Friday night. Great place to get a drink in oxford.

Came highly recommended. It was nice but wouldn’t ascribe anything special to it. Seating is plentiful.

The Tavern is hard to find because it is set off in the back of an alley. Google Maps is a big help. Food was extremely fast and excellent. Our group had beef and chicken sliders, nachos, burgers, cheesecake, and the caramel and date cake...More
