Good food (venison loin the best we have ever had) friendly and efficient service and congenial surroundings. We have now eaten there several times and always as excellent as the last time.

I tried a Pasta dish with wild mushrooms. Quite delicious. And followed by a special sugar-free cheesecake, chocolate and orange, with ice cream, Excellent. Then sat by the open fire with a brandy. We had a wonderful evening as always.

This is just the sort of place you want to stumble across during a country walk. The thatch and honeyed stone seem to beckon you in as the path cuts through the carpark. Don't resist. You will be rewarded with a warm welcome, good ale and wholesome food. I had a cheese board for lunch and enjoyed the local varieties... More

First visit for a while to this quaint little pub but as always a great atmosphere, helped by the staff who were really friendly and flexible. Six of us visited and everyone agreed that the food was excellent. My favourite was the chorizo sausage and poached egg on a muffin starter but those that had the stone bass main raved... More

Recently when visiting The Plough to have a game or two of bar billiards I asked my wife what she would choose from the menu. She said rack of lamb, not my first choice. So having some time to kill on a later visit to use the bar billiards table ( which has been refurbished ) I decided to order... More

A most enjoyable dinner, the wine was Mountain Red, an excellent wine to drink with a meal or just on its own. The dinner this time was Open Ravioli. In fact I had no idea what it was until it arrived and then was most impressed. The only disappointment was they had removed some firs class artwork from the Gents... More

Definitely a good idea to pre-book a table at this very popular pub in the pretty village of Finstock! We were there for Tuesday night fish & chips and they were well worth it. You get a great portion of fried fish, good chips and a scoop of garden or mushy peas. Delicious! The Eton Mess we had was also... More

12 of us had lunch, we had been told there was no need to pre-order but the kitchen took a while to deal with all the food. However, when it came it was excellent, I can recommend the prawn & crayfish cocktail! The beef baguette also looked good with beef done just right.

Popped in on a busy midweek night and was instantly impressed with the layout of the pub. Was served quickly and efficiently and all the staff had smiles on their faces. Food was fantastic I definitely advise people to come and try the plough at finstock!!!
