A great place for a pre theatre dinner. Not a posh place but the food is very good. Authentic French food. Only criticism is that the menu appears not to have changed in years.

Had a fabulous lunch here today. I had galette and hubby had three course lunch menu. All was lovely but the financier desert flavoured with pistachio was amazing - we shared it. The French cidre served in a bowl is also a great 'french' touch. Lovely!!

I've been here on a number of occasions over the years and never been disappointed - whether in large groups or small, whatever time or day. The latest occasion we wandered in on a Saturday night - a little ambitious without booking - but nevertheless they squeezed us in within a few minutes. The food is authentic, as are the... More

We booked this small bistro as we had seen it on previous visits to Nottingham, we ate here on the Friday evening. The menu is either 2 options of fixed price or the a la carte, we chose the a la carte which was very good. House wine also good, it's not the sort of place you need to dress... More

Enjoyed a pre theatre three course meal and a bottle of wine. All delicious. I hadn't visited for a while but standards remain high, staff friendly and efficient. I enjoyed fish rillettes, steak frites with a wonderful sauce, and a light chocolate mousse with a home made crisp biscuit. The house wine was really good value and very drinkable. I... More

So true that the places we love can sometimes drift out of our mind, particularly when there are so many new bars, restaurants and cafes opening up, tempting us to try something new. Really happy you have returned, and your memory has been jolted. Please, please come back again soon. More

Description
A family owned brasserie in a French provincial town...Nottingham! Since 1994, this delicious Gallic haven, presided by charismatic Corsican Stephane Luiggi, has created a tiny piece of France in the centre of Nottingham. Today it's a thriving, bustling restaurant on two floors, with a ground floor dining area for up to 40 customers boasting a unique Deli Corner, offering farmhouse unpasteurised cheese, wines from small growers, French grocery essentials, as well as some rare brocante finds. A large red-bricked basement room, for up to 44 diners, is reminiscent of Toulousain restaurants, La Ville Rose, where Stephane met his Nottingham-born wife Louise. The dishes and menus are typical of a French bistro; simple, classic recipes, all home-made from fresh ingredients. Stephane and Louise aim to serve meals that make the French feel at home, and the British remember their holidays. Authenticity, combined with a desire to share French culture, to pass on knowledge, from translations to the hidden gems of Corsica, makes French Living a truely unique, warm and memorable experience.
