Although we live in North Lancashire, near the Cumbrian border, whenever we stay in Hexham, a visit to Paxtons is a must. You are always assured of excellent, friendly service and quality fish and chips. We were not disappointed on our latest visit!

Takeaway with quaint little restaurant downstairs. We ate in the restaurant and the fish and chips were delicious. Very generous portions, good service, friendly staff, pleasant and very clean surroundings. Good value for money. What more could you want!

Delicious fish and chips but a bit pricey at almost £8 for a small cod and chips with a piece of bread and some orange juice. Again very nice food.

Traditional Fish and Chip shop. Run of the mill food but highly priced. Portions were small for the money and I was still hungry afterwards.

Chips were only average but the haddock was one of the best bits of fish I’ve ever had from a chippie. Good sized portion reasonably priced.
