This is a proper village pub with skittles and an outside pool table -weather permitting. The member of staff was polite and friendly and offered us drinks and menus. The... More

Nice people and a quiet area, in Northamptonshire, the county of shires and squires. You must try them.

We come to the Griffins Head whenever we want a pint and a delicious, hearty meal in a traditional pub atmosphere, The service is really friendly and genuine, the menu is plentiful and there's always several things I fancy trying. The value is exceptional. This place is a gem.

Our friends, who live in Wellingborough, wanted us to join them for dinner at The Griffin's Head last evening - we live in Bedford. They were so enthusiastic about the food - and rightly so - our friends shared a deep fried camembert starter, which looked, and they said was delicious - my husband and I opted for the mussel... In an area of the country where it is now difficult to find a Sunday pub lunch we were pleased to discover this pub. There was a choice of 3 roasts and an array of different beers. The meal was very good and even the vegetables passed my test: that is they were not overcooked. Simple really but you wouldn't... More

Friday lunch with friends in a quiet village pub. Although there were very few customers the menu was quite extensive, including a few specials. Service was excellent and the food plentiful and well presented.

Actually, the pub was OK. But as I was staying nearby, I thought I'd try the food. BIG mistake. Whilst some reviews comment upon the portion size, I was most disappointed by the serving of chicken and bacon pasta. Thank goodness I had some garlic bread. The next time I tried the burger. Why, do you think, it would be... More
