OMG Home made pie. I never have pie but when I looked on the next table my mind was made up. May I say it was worth it. The veg was al dente but not too much and the mash had parsnips in it. Oh boy

Called in for lunch for old times sake as it was a place we used to eat in when our daughter was at university 9 years ago, even sat in the snug where we used to sit before. A special offer of food and a small drink for £7.50 was on and we couldn't fault it - just the right... More

We just popped in and found good beer and good quality home made food in a very friendly pub. The Shepherd's pie was particularly noteworthy, as was the lemon cheescake. We came back a few days later for the live music (that starts after the food service finishes) and more great beer.

Thank bgks

Popped in for a pint and a Sunday roast - great value, well cooked and excellent service - decent range of beers, cosy lounges - a proper out with proper service. Recommend

The staff were very helpful and fitted seven of us around two tables together. We ate from the lunch menu and had sandwiches with chips and a salad garnish. It was no trouble for the staff to make the adjustments to whatever sandwiches that were required. There was a variety of real ales on sale which were well received.

We visit York about three time a year and always visit this pub on Quiz nights. It is a lovely, friendly pub. The service is great, and although we haven't eaten in this pub, the food looks really nice. The staff are very welcoming. It is definitely worth a visit.

We called in here on a Rainy evening. A quick beverage prior to dinner. The Manager was top class...chatty and informative. The beer was excellent. A good range to imbibe.

With aching legs after a busy day in York we needed a sit down and some food to recharge ourselves. Glad we found this place! Cosy, quirky pub. Excellent friendly service and really yummy food. Certainly worth popping in if you're passing. Landlord even made my husband his signature G&T, which apparently was delicious.

Thank MrsS86
