The queues for this place are really long during busy periods. You have to ask how long you are prepared to wait for a cup of tea and a cake. It's good to say you have been but try to pick a quiet time when there are no queues.

It is located in beautiful city center of York. You can park near museum garden and six minutes pleasant walk to Betty's from there. My favorite there is scone with Assam tea. If you order a set, it will include Sandwiches, Scones, and some cakes or macaroons with tea. Breakfast there is also highly recommended by many people. My husband... More

Be prepared to queue (the line goes down quickly), but it's worth the wait. Pimms and vanilla slice, served by attentive waitresses in lovely surroundings, after a busy morning shopping, is just what's needed!! Fabulous cakes - a real treat 👍🏻

A wonderful experience, food and drinks served beautifully in relaxing surrounds. The food was excellent and the cakes were to die for. The staff very attentive and kind. I visit here regularly and it is always the same. Well worth trying

We visited Betty's tea room Easter bank holiday and queued for half an hour which I thought was reasonable, the ground floor was very full so we ended up sitting downstairs in a much cosier atmosphere, to be honest i would recommend sitting down stairs as upstairs is floor to ceiling windows and what you tend to find is that... Betty's Tea Rooms are a must visit for that quintessential afternoon tea (or morning coffee and cake). The tea rooms exude class, opulence and a hark back to a bygone era with some lovely touches and a great degree if history. Be warned - it gets busy at peak times!! People were queuing for half way diwn the street and... More

This is a famous tearoom which offers a fairly limited dinner menu of high quality items. Main courses were delicious and Eton Mess and brown bread ice cream were superb.

We didn't need to book as we were at the door for 9.00am on a Monday morning. The restaurant was beautifully warm and inviting. Staff very pleasant and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the poached eggs with avocado and tomatoes on toast. Endless choices of teas and coffees. Worth a trip to the loo whilst there as they are pristine!! A definite... More

Hey husband I visited Betty's in October and had a super meal. There was a queue but we didn't wait long - it was worth the wait! The food is excellent and cakes to die for. I loved the silver old fashioned serving things and the interior design also adds to the experience! Definite must visit.
