We went for lunch today and were very impressed by the helpful staff. The sandwiches we had were tasty and reasonably priced. It's a nice place to sit and have a glass of wine too.

My Husband and I had passed by Wildes during the day and decided to go back for an evening meal. We had a lovely bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to share and I plumped for the chicken pitta, my husband had the bacon & cheese burger. All came well presented and tasted great. The atmosphere was very relaxed although not very... More

Had lunch on Friday, nice pub in centre of York. Service a bit slow with one waitress on but happy to wait as we were there for a weekend away. Food nothing to write home about very average. Cheese and pickle was the saltiest I have ever eaten.

We called in for lunch after seeing their advertising board. The offer was a sandwich and a drink for £5:25. We weren't expecting much but we were very surprised and extremely pleased. Our order was taken at the table, I opted for roast ham and a glass of white wine and hubby chose cheese and onion and white wine. The... More

The website for this cosy little eatery states that 'this family run establishment has a definate continental feel which is reinforced by the attention to detail'. Point 2) The 'attention to detail' seems to have slipped somewhat. My friend... More

Our meals arrived and we were really impressed with the quality and size of the meal. Really good quality salad with heaps... More
